The words “unprecedented” and “the new normal” have been used often these past , amidst the COVID-19 crisis. This pandemic has greatly affected all of our lives but here at the Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas, we are truly grateful for the opportunity to continue rehearsals and be here tonight, singing for you!

Many performing arts organizations have either closed their doors permanently or have cancelled their programs due to COVID-19. We have been lucky to still be open and doing what we love to do BUT luck does eventually run out. Our hope is that this holiday season, you remember the Fort Bend Boys Choir during your gift-giving time. Thanks to the Cares Act of 2020, your dona- tion is 100% tax-deductible! Simply visit the Make a Donation page on our website or scan the accompanying QR Code. With your help and many others, our choirboys can fulfill their motto for the year:

2021—We Will Sing On! Providing the skills and training essential for lifelong learning through the finest music education in the ancient boychoir tradition, is the primary focus of The Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas.

Founded in 1982 by current Artistic Director, William R. Adams, the organization started with 45 boys in one choir and currently, there are 40 boys in two choirs. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, there were 100 boys in four choirs. Performances before three U.S. Presidents, collaborations with named enter- tainers, major opera companies and symphony orchestras, have earned the Tour Choir the distinction as one of the premier groups of its kind. They have performed in numerous cathedrals and concert halls throughout the world and are in high demand for concert performances, weddings, conventions and commercials. The Tour Choir earned the prestigious “Addy” award for television commercial excellence and was nominated for a national news Emmy in regards to their performance at the 2001 Christmas Pageant of Peace in Washington, D.C.

The Tour Choir’s recording of “Ode to Joy” from the Heavenly Euphoria CD listed below was featured on the soundtrack of the 2020 Polish movie “Hejter.” In addition, the choirboys performed six songs for the soundtrack of the video game Wasteland 3, released internationally in August 2020 to wide acclaim.

They have released ten CD’s and tapes including: As Long As I Have Music, Christmas Is A Feeling, Batteries Not Included, Live From Denmark, We Are One, Live … On Tour, United In Song , Stand Up And Bless The Lord, Great Day and Explore, Dream, Discover. Our 35th anniversary release, Heavenly Euphoria, is available digitally through iTunes and Amazon. The Tour Choir is also featured in The Joy of Christmas, a 2016 holiday CD release by Jaime Thietten, a Christian Music Artist. This CD is availa- ble at www.jtmusic.net.

The choir organization maintains their high level of music excellence by providing young boys with a supportive and positive environment that instills self-discipline, team effort and a diligent focus on their choir commitment through the finest music education. These skills give our boys the confidence and maturity needed in the transition of young boys into young men.

The choirboys are so grateful to be meeting and singing together safely, amidst this COVID-19 pandem- ic. While smaller in number, it is temporary! Some day soon, this pandemic will be a thing of the past and the choirboys will perform once again throughout the community and embark on a two-week sum- mer performance tour.

As you hear them sing, remember that these are ordinary boys who are challenged and rewarded by ex- celling at something which engages their hearts as well as their minds. They serve as role models of purposeful work and high achievement for other children. For adults, they are inspirational reminders of human possibilities.
