PRACTICAL Description Courses (hours) The Practical Nursing program is a two-year comprehensive Medical Terminology / Anatomy & Physiology program for dedicated students seeking to (165) Long Term Care Certified Nursing Assistant (91) obtain certification through the National Council Licensure Concepts of Nursing (40) Examination (NCLEX). This program consists of theory, Fundamentals of Nursing (160) laboratory practice and clinical experience. Students interact Clinical 1 Basic Nursing (80) with our internet-based student learning management system Pharmacology and IV Therapy Skills (50) that involves reading assignments, workbook activities, skills Medical I and II (150) lab activities, computer assisted learning software, videos, Clinical 2 – Medical Surgical Nursing (192) Clinical 3 – Medical Surgical Nursing (192) course review sessions, discussion, special projects and guest Maternity – Child Nursing (40) speakers. Experienced Instructors are mentors that guide students Pediatric Nursing (40) in the learning process. Students gain invaluable skills through Mental Health Concepts (40) work-based partnerships outside campus and in the community. Clinical 4 – Maternal / Child, Pediatric and Mental Health (88) Employment Options Transition to Practice (15) Charge Nurse; Clinic (CLINIC LPN); Clinic Clinical 5 – Transition to Practice (120) Nurse; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); Licensed Practical Nurse, Total (1463) Clinic Nurse (LPN, Clinic Nurse); Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN); Estimated time to complete: 2 years Office Nurse; Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (PEDIATRIC LPN); Private Duty Nurse; Triage Licensed Practical Nurse (TRIAGE LPN) – Approximate Pay Potential: $15-29 per hour.

Certifications may vary by Program and are subject to change without notice. Schedule Students must attend a minimum of 16 hours per week. Each course Accreditation has scheduled review and testing session requirements. Campus Accreditation Commission for Education in is available to students Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – Nursing (ACEN) 6:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. School is closed Oklahoma (OBN) each day from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for lunch, unless otherwise posted. Clinical experience is divided into five daytime rotations ranging from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and 120 hours of role transition/ preceptorship totaling 688 hours. Students attend a review and testing sessions once weekly with an average of two clinical days per week.
