The Pilgrimage of Grace Nine walks (one for each day of the festival) have been developed by the Pocklington Walkers are Welcome group. Each walk will have a leader and an introductory commentary at the start or an ongoing commentary en route from one of the heritage team members. The Pilgrimage of Grace is the name assumed by religious insurgents who, in 1536 in the North of , opposed Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries. The rebellion united every able bodied man in every parish of the East Riding and each parish has a contribution to make to this fascinating piece of history.

The Coastal Opportunities Gateway The Coastal Opportunities Gateway (COG) is an Council project supporting businesses and enhancing the tourism offer in rural villages affected by natural coastal change. Our free guided walks will encourage people to explore the East Riding’s spectacular and dramatic coastline, and to look ahead to the opening of the England Coast Path in summer 2018.
