She worked at WTVP for 19 years, most recently as Program Director, including writing and editing the program guide. Stacey was known for her great love of local programming and community events. She had a passion for PBS Kids and early education, and was the guiding force behind WTVP’s statewide Young Writers and Illustrators Competition. She spearheaded regular book drives to benefit central Illinois pre-schools. She also worked closely with independent producers in central Illinois, encouraging and guiding their work for broadcast on WTVP. She was a bright light and spark plug for our staff here at WTVP and will be sorely missed. Stacey’s love of public television and WTVP in particular were evident in everything she did. She added a warmth and whimsy to any discussion and brought a unique perspective to even the driest topics. She was particularly effective with children’s projects – she spoke their language and had a way of communicating with them that was a joy to behold.
