Even taking into account the fact that Lochore are high standard opposi tion, it is ourselves which gives me most cause for concern . Our concentration in the early stages of games is not nearly good enough. We are losing too many goals at this stage in games. While I don't 'want to target individual players, there is a school of thou_ght from different categories of players. From the younger players I get the feeling that, now they have arrived at Tayport, they have reached the pinnacle of junior football. Nothing can be further from the truth. It is now that the hard work starts for them. They have now to prove that they deserve to be at a club of this standing. From the more experienced players there is the school of thought that there is nobody like us. they think that Tayport's name and past results are enough to intimidate opponents. One of the oldest cliches in football is that you only get out of the game what you've put into it. I think we were very fortunate last week as we contributed nothing to the game until the final thirty minutes. Yes, we showed good character and fighting spirit but our passing, defending ,workrate and our finishing were all a disgrace. I was disgusted with our performance . The standard is not good enough to win games outwith our region. We must use this game to prevent complacency ruining our season.

On this occasion, though, the opposition took only fourteen seconds to find the net, through former Kinnoull striker Colin Burke. Ronnie Kenneth's penalty miss must have planted seeds of doubt in the minds of the Canniepairt faithful, as the situation was beginning to look irretrievable .
