LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1993

PROPOSAL TO EXTEND THE AREA OF OPERATIONS OF NEW ENGLAND TABLELANDS (NOXIOUS PLANTS) COUNTY COUNCIL TO INCLUDE THE AREA OF GLEN INNES COUNCIL

A proposal, made pursuant to section 383(1) of the Local Government Act 1993, has been received from New England Tablelands (Noxious Plants) County Council to amend its constitution by varying its area of operations to include the local government area of Shire Council.

The proposal has the support of Glen Innes Severn Council.

New England Tablelands (Noxious Plants) County Council, which trades under the name of New England Weeds Authority, is the local control authority for weeds under the Biosecurity Act 2015 for the local government areas of Armidale Regional Council, Council and Walcha Council. If the proposal is adopted, the County Council will also become the local control authority for weeds in the local government area of Glen Innes Severn Shire Council and that Council will become a constituent council of the County Council.

Information concerning the proposal can be obtained from the offices of New England Tablelands (Noxious Plants) County Council, Armidale Regional Council, Uralla Shire Council, Walcha Council and Glen Innes Severn Shire Council during business hours from Wednesday 9 September 2020 until Friday 9 October 2020.
