Luigi Ontani Luigi Ontani was born in 1943 in Montovolo di Grizzana Morandi near Vergato (Bo). From the end of the 1960’s, he contributed significantly to repositioning figurative language within contemporary artistic expression through photographs, performances, sculptures, installations and drawings that refer to a rich iconographic tradition, both western and eastern. He was obsessively the main protagonist of his works, wearing the clothes of mythical figures from history, religion or literature, drawing from the most diverse sources both near and distant in time, according to a method that compares references to pre- existing models to the creation of a personal mythology where narcissism and erudition coexist. Besides having taken part in the Biennale di Venezia in its 1972, 1978, 1984, 1986 (that year also in the Art Festival in Sidney) and 1995 editions, and at the Art Festival in Lione, in 2000, Ontani exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, at the Kunstverein in Frankfurt, at the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, as well as in the principal museums in Italy. In 2001 the P.S.1 in New York hosted his first important retrospective exhibition in the United States. His most important retrospective exhibition was held from December 13, 2007 until February 9, 2008 at the SMAK Museum for Contemporary Art in Gent. Winner of the first edition of the Terna Award for Contemporary Art for the Terawatt category.

Giuseppe Piccioni Born in Ascoli Piceno in 1953, he graduated in Sociology after having attended the film school established by Gaumont. In 1982, he directed the short film "Il prologo", and later the video "Voglio andare via", while also working in the advertising sector. As a writer, he collaborated in the screenwriting of "Il volo", an episode of "Juke box" (a film made in 1987 in episodes) directed by Valerio Jalongo. After having founded together with others the Vertigo production company he directed his first film "Il grande Blek", that was favorably received by the critics and obtained various recognition, including a "Nastro d'argento" and the "De Sica Award". Three other films followed that were based on various comedy genres: "Chiedi la luna" (1991), "Condannato a nozze" (1993) and "Cuori al verde" (1996). His later work, "Fuori dal mondo" (2000), is an interesting and atypical film, a story that analyzes the dramatic side and interior dimension of the protagonists. Following the success obtained with "Fuori dal mondo" (9 David di Donatello awards), in 2001 he filmed "Luce dei miei occhi". Once again the protagonists of the story were ordinary people, "somewhat castaways, always on the verge of getting lost, of feeling inadequate, losers, travellers of life, visitors of the world ". In 2004 his film "La vita che vorrei" was released, the story of two actors involved on the set of a period movie who live their life in parallel to the roles they playt. In 2005, together with other intellectuals, he founded the Libreria del Cinema (Film Library) in Rome, where the movement “100 authors” was created and Piccioni became one of its strong supporters. His last film that was recently released is entitled “Giulia non esce la sera”.
