STOPPING (a.m.): The planned stops for this service are listed above but please be alert to students occasionally appearing elsewhere. (p.m.): Students are not required to disembark only where they boarded in the morning. Do not refuse requests to leave the vehicle unless there are real safety concerns. This can rarely apply to a designated bus stop. Also note change of end of service position on different days of the week.

TRAVEL: Passes are issued by the school, but some students pay on arrival. Do not record numbers unless there is an overloading issue. There is no need to use TGX machine either.

DBS: Drivers must display a valid DBS badge.

PARKING: Refer to enclosed plan if instructed to leave the vehicle at the school.

OVERLOADING: If students are standing due to insufficient seating, please stop to request guidance from Stacey Eckersley at the school on 07891 126 396.

ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS

Transit from depot 18.5 miles (via Preston New Rd) – please allow 40 mins Morning From stop by Preston Bus on A6063 Deepdale Road towards Preston North End FC - becomes Sir Tom Finney Way - ahead at lights onto B6241 – ahead through next lights and take offside lane – keep right at lights by Fulwood Barracks onto Watling Street Road.

Follow Watling Street Road to the – through right bend onto Gamull Lane – right at roundabout with The Gamull pub ahead onto B6243 Longridge Road – left at Ribbleton Medical Centre into Ribbleton Hall Drive dual-carriageway - right at end on Pope Lane – pass Moor Nook shops – through double bends onto Miller Road – left at lights on A5085 Blackpool Road.

Left at roundabout by Hesketh’s Arms on A59 New Hall Lane – pass sign for Fishwick Golf and take next left into Cairnsmore Avenue (last right before Shell forecourt) – left at end onto Tudor Avenue – left at end again back onto A59 New Hall Lane - ahead at roundabout past Hesketh’s Arms towards Preston.

New Hall Lane until past Lidl - next left into Adelaide Street (just before Fastline Superbikes) – through double-bends and left at end on A6 London Road – downhill over River Ribble - keep left at lights by Yew Tree pub onto Victoria Road.

Right at second mini-roundabout into B6258 Chorley Road – left at third roundabout by Beam & Brycg into School Lane – becomes Cottage Lane – right into second entrance of Walton-le-Dale High School bus lane.

Transit from depot 15 miles – please allow 35 mins Afternoon Left on Cottage Lane - reverse of morning route to Adelaide Street junction (on A6 London Road) – continue ahead to lights at A59 New Hall Lane – right into New Hall Lane towards M6 – ahead at Hesketh’s Arms roundabout – follow morning direction around Cairnsmore Avenue and Tudor Road circuit (i.e. anti-clockwise) to return to A59 – reverse of morning route to start position on Deepdale Road.

All Walton-le-Dale drivers please note residents’ concerns:

If travelling between the B6230 Cuerdale Lane at Samlesbury and Walton-le-Dale High School, please avoid using Knot Lane unless there will be a significant delay caused by traffic congestion.

The route via Church Brow will increase the distance and time by only half a mile and about two minutes in normal traffic conditions.
