Virtual Dance NK Salsa 2021

Virtual Dance NK Salsa 2021

Since life (physical) dance competitions are temporarily not possible due to the corona measures, the organization of the NK has taken in collaboration with Fantasia Entertainment Group, decided to organize it online this year The Virtual DALDC 2021 and will take place between June and July 2021. The rest of the finalists will also be virtually present at that time. • Intermezzos and challenges

The videos of the participants and the judging will be edited by the organization of the NK Salsa and broadcast live at a predetermined time.

The Virtual Game Rules

1. Instead of dancing live on a dance floor and with a live audience, the participants record their dance choreographies with a video recording device (smartphone or video camera) for participating in the DALDC 2021. The participants are allowed to make their recordings at locations of their choice taking into account the corona measures applicable at that time. The ideal setup for the recording is attached to this document.

2. Participants submit their videos as directed by the organization of the DALDC. This must be done for the duration, and video format, and before the deadline applicable to their category/class. 3. The participants will receive a schedule with the date and time of the broadcast. 4. The participants can watch their participation in the Virtual DALDC 2021 live and enjoy it together with their friends, acquaintances, and family. 5. All participants must register to participate in the preliminary round in their category. De category ‘on Wheels’ is exempt from dancing the preliminary round, and will go straight to the final.

Music

The participants choose 1 song for their dance, if desired one for the preliminary round and another one for the final.

Duration of the :

Couples / Solo: Minimum 1.30 and maximum 2:00 minutes + possible end phrasing of the music of up to 15 seconds

Teams: Maximum 10 seconds of entering and leaving the floor, 2:00 - 3:00 minutes + if applicable, end phrasing of the music of up to 15 seconds.

The duration will be strictly adhered to. When the time limit is exceeded the performance shall be cut off by the production of the Virtual DALDC 2021.

Dance hold

Pay attention! For couples, the majority of the dance has to be performed in a dance position (closed or open). Ideally 75% of the dance is partnering (= dancing together in closed or open dance position) and 25% footwork (= dancing without touching each other). Exception to this rule is the category ‘Salsa Cubana’ because the traditional form of the dance is characterized by a relatively large role for footwork.

Costumes

The clothing should not distract from the dance. Costumes must be appropriate and in good taste. Dance shoes are not required. Advertisements of dance school on the clothes are not allowed. Intimate parts of the body must be covered by opaque fabric. Thongs and underwear made of translucent fabric are not allowed. Newcomer and Junior: The above and "Competition Costume" are not permitted. Glitter in the material is allowed, extra glitter (stones, sequins) is not allowed.

6. ProAm: A professional who dances with an amateur. Couples only.

During the judging of the preliminary round, the jury will separate the amateur participants in Newcomer and Prechamp.

In Class 1-3 (couples) you can choose the subclass: on1, on2 or Cuban Salsa

In each category/class there must be a minimum of 3 participants to attend the DALDC 2021 for that class to continue. If this number is not reached, the organization reserves its rights to cancel this category/class or to combine it with another category/class.
