The wind direction inland would be northwesterly to northeasterly, and off- shore the wind direction would be north- westerly. Wind speed inland is forecast to be between five and 15 knots, while at sea the speed may increase up to 15 and 18 knots, particularly in the north. “We are expecting scattered rains tomorrow. The weather is likely to be partly cloudy to cloudy, similar to what has been experienced since this morning,” a forecaster told The Peninsula last evening. Day temperatures are likely to range between 18 degrees Celsius (in Abu Samra) to 21 degrees in Doha. Places like Al Khor and Ruwais are expected to record the second highest temperature at 20 degrees. Abandoned cars to be towed away DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has launched a drive to remove abandoned cars and machinery from footpaths in Doha Al Haditha (Modern Doha). Stickers warning that the vehicles would be removed have been pasted on at least five abandoned cars so far. Civic inspectors of the Ministry of Municipality recently started pasting such stickers on vehicles parked on footpaths. Jassem Al Maliki, a member of the civic body from Doha Al Haditha had requested to the ministry to ban parking of cars and VANISHING equipment on footpaths in his constitu- ency, Al Arab reports. The ministry replied that the depart- ment concerned had been mobilised to launch an operation to remove the vehicles. • Efforts to Combat Wildlife Trafficking at the Department of Justice
Fact Sheet – February 11, 2015 Efforts to Combat Wildlife Trafficking at the Department of Justice Today, the Presidential Task Force on Wildlife Trafficking issued the Implementation Plan for the National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking that President Obama released on February 11, 2014. The Task Force, which is led by the Departments of State, Justice, and the Interior, and includes 14 additional federal departments and agencies, was established by Executive Order No. 13648 (July 1, 2013) and charged with developing a government-wide strategy for fighting poaching and other wildlife trafficking. Wildlife trafficking has become an international crisis that threatens security, hinders sustainable economic development, and undermines the rule of law. The illicit trade in wildlife is decimating many species worldwide and threatens iconic species such as rhinoceroses, elephants, and tigers with extinction. The Implementation Plan builds upon the National Strategy’s roadmap and is a robust, focused reaffirmation of our Nation’s commitment to work in partnership with governments, local communities, nongovernmental organizations, and the private sector to stem the pernicious illegal trade in wildlife. The agencies on the Task Force have been working to implement the National Strategy since its inception, and the Implementation Plan lays out next steps toward each of the National Strategy’s three key objectives – strengthening domestic and global enforcement, reducing demand for illegally traded wildlife, and expanding international

  • Series Premieres Fridays at 10PM ET/PT Beginning May 13 –
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Katherine Nelson, 310-975-5975 April 26, 2011 [email protected] LEARNING THE FAMILY BUSINESS REALLY BITES IN DISCOVERY CHANNEL’S ALL-NEW SERIES SWAMP BROTHERS -- Series Premieres Fridays at 10PM ET/PT Beginning May 13 – (Silver Spring, Md.) – Meet Robbie and Stephen Keszey, an unlikely pair of brothers who run one of the most unique family businesses in the country – working with wild and dangerous animals deep in the swamps of Florida. Robbie’s a veteran of the ‘80s metal scene who’s passionate about all things scaly, and Stephen’s a former New York City bartender who’s more comfortable hailing a cab than handling a snake. Together, they’re the stars of Discovery Channel’s new series SWAMP BROTHERS, premiering Friday, May 13 at 10PM ET/PT. Robbie and Stephen run Glades Herp Farm in Florida, the largest venomous snake breeding farm in the world. In each episode, the SWAMP BROTHERS put themselves on the line to protect the most unusual of creatures – from pythons and gators to wildcats and bears. In the May 13 premiere, Robbie and Stephen get dangerously close to a mama gator, as they attempt to rescue her nest of eggs from the threat of animals such as fire ants, raccoons and birds. The SWAMP BROTHERS didn’t set out to work with slithering, sharp-toothed animals. As a child, older brother Robbie loved two things: music and wildlife.
