13Th World Coarse Angling Championship for VETERANS

Dear friends, we are proud to host again the Coarse Angling World Championships for Disabled, Veterans and Masters, which will take place from 1st to 7th June 2020, in Radeče. The Fishing Federation of Slovenia is grateful to F.I.P.S.e.d. and its President Claudio Matteoli, for entrusting us. As always, we will work hard for making this event by a succes. The Fishing Club Radeče has already given proof of its skills in the past organized international fishing events with excellently prepared fishing venue and I have no doubt that it will be the same again. Here I have to point out the good collaboration and help from the local community – especially the municipality of Radeče and some local companies. River Sava is the longest river in Slovenia and is dwelt with plenty of different fish. At its start, it is a tipical alpine river with rapids and it is rich in trout and grayling. In proximity of the town Radeče its stream is quiter and it is dwelt with loads od carp species. His abundance and density of fish shows the good management of the Fishing Club of Radeče. Fishing has no limits, not of age neither of possible disabilities. This will prove the competitors attending 22nd Coarse Angling World Championship for Disabled, 13th Coarse Angling World Championship Veterans and 3rd Coarse Angling World Championship for Masters in 2020. So let the dancing floats, fishing knowledge and experience in fair competition determine the winners.

INTRODUCTION F.I.P.S.e.d. entrusted the organisation of Coarse Angling World Championships for Disabled, for Veterans and for Masters, to the Fishing Slovenia. The honor to organize such event came again upon the Fishing Club of Radeče, recognized for having organized all coarse angling championships in Slovenia up until now. The Fishing Club of Radeče is located in the middle of Slovenia, closed to River Sava, the longest river of Slovenia.

Radeče is a small town of about 2500 inhabitants. Radeče lies in central Slovenia, at approximately 80 kilometres far from the capital Ljubljana, same distance from Zagreb (capital of Croatia), about 180 km far from Triest, Italy, and 100 kilometres from the biggest airport in our Country, Brnik.

The headquarter of the Fishing Club of Radeče is at 2 km from the city centre, alongside the river. The Club hold a hostel, a conference hall and a 4 rooms flat.

Following the development of many big fishing events, the Fishing Club of Radeče is constantly updating it's fishing venue. In 2019 it has developped about 300 m of venue near the club house.

The Town of Radeče lies at southern side from the confluence of two big rivers – Sava and Savinja. Sava springs in Julian Alps near tri-border of Slovenia, Austria and Italy. Sava flows through Zasavje almost 30 kilometres in canyon and widen into a plain in Radeče. In Hotemež there is a resevoir pre hydroelectric power plant Vrhovo.

ANTI-DOPING INFORMATION TUE REQUESTS

A Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) is a certificate granted by an anti-doping organization (IF for international-level athletes, NADO for national-level athletes and MEO for athlete participating in an MEO event. The certificate is for a set prohibited substance, in certain dosages, with a limited period of validity. An application for a TUE must be based on a documented medical condition and diagnosis and the TUE will only be granted under strict criteria laid out in the International Standard of TUEs.

Athletes must absolutely avoid taking a medication with a prohibited substance without a valid TUE.

The presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolites or markers in an athlete’s sample without a valid TUE is an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV), as are the use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or a prohibited method, possession, administration or attempted administration.

Athletes must therefore consult the Prohibited List https://www.wada- ama.org/en/resources/science-medicine/prohibited-list with their prescribing physician before taking a medication to ensure that no prohibited substance is contained in the medication needed.

Athlete whose illness or condition requires treatment with a prohibited substance or method (listed in this link: https://www.wada-ama.org/en/resources/science-medicine/prohibited-list) must apply to CIPS for a TUE following the CIPS strict TUE application process. He shall then use the application form, which can be downloaded from the ITA website: https://ita.sport/wp- content/uploads/2019/02/TUE-Form.pdf The TUE request has to be sent to the following address: [email protected]

If the TUE is granted, the athlete will then be permitted to use the medication during the period of validity of the TUE without committing an Anti-Doping Rules Violation (ADRV).

Regardless of whether a TUE has been granted or not, athletes should always declare on the doping control forms filled out during sample collection any medications and supplements taken within the seven days prior to sample collection, and any blood transfusions in the three months prior for blood samples.

If a TUE has already been granted by a NADO or by a RADO, the Athlete in question does not have to apply for any additional CIPS TUE, as CIPS recognizes all TUE granted by NADOs and RADOs.

ACCOMMODATION In Radeče there are no accommodation possibilities, but there are two big hotels with pools and natural thermal water in the nearby. The teams that participated the last championships were also staying in holiday cottages and mountain hostels. All accomodations are in radius of 25 kilometres from fishing venue, that means 15 – 30 minutes by car. There are many different shops and restaurants nearby the fishing venue.

FISHING VENUE Venue at Fishing club Radeče and upstream – right bank of Sava. Sector A: water is 4.5 m deep at a distance of 11.5 m from the bank; sectors B, C and D: water depth ranges between 2 and 4 m at a distance of 11.5 m from the bank.

The most common fish here are vimba bream, barbel, carp, Prussian carp, bream, wels catfish, bleak and roach.

All pegs are approachable with vehicles.

Lenght of fishing pole: max 11, 5 m Lenght of net: min 3,5 m

Amount of groundbait: 15 liters groundbaits. Prepared (wet and sifted) groundbaits must shall be presented at the checks in graduated buckets. This amount includs earth, gravel, corn maize, wheat, hempseed, etc. and other additives that are not toxic for the fauna and the water environment.
