2.8 Examination/ Evaluation Reforms initiated by the Institution (for example: Open Book Examination, Bar Coding, Double Valuation, Photocopy, Online Multiple Choice Questions):

Even though the college does not have any role to play in the examination/evaluation system, the college has utilised every available opportunity and used it fruitful. . In the present Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in operation in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, the evaluation system evolved for Part V is not fool proof and effective. The activities falling under Part V in the UG curriculum of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University are NCC, NSS and YRC. In order to make the curriculum effective, we formed a committee on “Committee on Extension Activities” to co-ordinate the activities falling under Part V (Extension

Revised Guidelines of IQAC and submission of AQAR Page 14

Activities) in the present UG curriculum. Capt.(Dr). D. Rajan is the Co-ordinator. The other members of the committee are NSS and YRC Programme officers. All second year UG students are the members of either NCC or NSS or YRC. Marks awarded for Part V is 100 with a credit of one score. Heads of the Departments are asked to depute a teacher from the Department to look after campus cleaning and maintenance. The performance of the students in campus cleaning and maintenance with their attendance is reported to the Programme officers of NCC, NSS and YRC. The Programme officers instructed to award marks to each student on the basis of the performance of the student in campus cleaning and maintenance as reported by the staff in charge from the Department, besides the performance of the student in NCC/NSS/YRC as the case may be. Hence, the evaluation system in extension activity is effectively carried out under Part V. . Separate office equipped with computer is provided for Internal Examination Wing (IEW) in the current year. Internal Examination system is monitored by Internal Examination Wing.
