Fund Af Småsommerfugle Fra Danmark I 2006 (Lepidoptera) Fund af småsommerfugle fra Danmark i 2006 (Lepidoptera) Otto Buhl, Per Falck, Ole Karsholt, Knud Larsen & Flemming Vilhelmsen. Buh!, 0., P. Falck, O. Karsholt, K. Larsen & F. Vilhelmsen: Records of Mi crolepidoptera from Denmark in 2006 (Lepidoptera). Ent. Meddr. 75: 89-109. Copenhagen, Denmark, 2007. ISSN 0013-8851. This artide reports and comments on interesting Danish Microlepidoptera collected in 2006 and inelude remarkable findings from previous years. The classification and nomenelature follow the Danish catalogue (Karsholt & Sta de! Nielsen, 1998), which is basedon the European checklist (Karsholt & Ra zowski (eds.), 1996). Twelve species are reported as new to the Danish fauna: Rhigognostis kovacsi (Gozmany, 1952) (Plutellidae). One specimen was taken at the south coast of Bornholm. It is a rare species only known from the Balaton area in Hungary. Coleophora motacillella Zeller, 1849 (Coleophoridae). One specimen was taken at the east coast of Bornholm in 1992. Coleophora silenella Herrich-Schaffer, 1855 (Coleophoridae). Severallarvae were found at the south west coast of Jutland o n the host plant Silene otites growing in the sand dunes. Blastobasis phy cidella (Zeller, 1839) (Blastobasidae). Two specimens were taken at the coast of Bornholm. Oegoconia caradjai Popescu-Gorj & Capu~e, 1965 (Autostichidae). Many specimens has since 2003 been taken at the roof of the Zoological Mu seum in Copenhagen. It is believed that the species has spread to Denmark recently. Gelechia senticetella (Staudinger, 1859) (Gelechiidae). One specimen was taken in the south eastern island ofMøn. Nothris lemniscellus (Zeller, 1839) (Gelechiidae). Two specimens were taken at the coast of Bornholm. Agdis tis adactyla (Hiibner, 1819) (Pterophoridae). One specimen was taken at the coast of Bornholm. Hellinsia carphodactyla (Hiibner, 1813) (Pterophoridae). One specimen was taken at the west coast ofJutland. Aglossa caprealis (Hiibner, 1809) (Pyralidae). One specimen was taken at the roofofthe Zoological Mu seum in Capenhagen in 2005. Acrobasis obtusella (Hiibner, 1796) (Pyralidae). One specimen was taken at the south tip of the Island of Falster. Chilo luteellus (Motschulsky, 1866) (Pyralidae). One specimen was taken at the west coast of Jutland in 2005. It is remarkable that Il of the 12 species new to the Danish fauna have been taken in automaticailight traps. Caloptilia Jalconipennella (Hb.) was f o und in south east Denmark in the sum mer generation. The species is only known in very few, mostly old specimens. The total number of Danish Plutellidae is now 7, of Coleophoridae 117, of Blastobasidae 3, of Autostichidae 2, of Gelechiidae 175, of Pterophoridae 42 and of Pyralidae 195; this results in a total of 1549 species of Microlepidoptera (families Micropterigidae-Pyralidae) found in Denmark. The total amount of Lepidoptera mentianed from Denmark is now Microlepidoptera 1549, Mac rolepidoptera 952, and all together 2501 species.

SYSTEMATICS OF THE MEGADIVERSE SUPERFAMILY GELECHIOIDEA (INSECTA: LEPIDOPTEA) DISSERTATION Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for The Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Sibyl Rae Bucheli, M.S. ***** The Ohio State University 2005 Dissertation Committee: Approved by Dr. John W. Wenzel, Advisor Dr. Daniel Herms Dr. Hans Klompen _________________________________ Dr. Steven C. Passoa Advisor Graduate Program in Entomology ABSTRACT The phylogenetics, systematics, taxonomy, and biology of Gelechioidea (Insecta: Lepidoptera) are investigated. This superfamily is probably the second largest in all of Lepidoptera, and it remains one of the least well known. Taxonomy of Gelechioidea has been unstable historically, and definitions vary at the family and subfamily levels. In Chapters Two and Three, I review the taxonomy of Gelechioidea and characters that have been important, with attention to what characters or terms were used by different authors. I revise the coding of characters that are already in the literature, and provide new data as well. Chapter Four provides the first phylogenetic analysis of Gelechioidea to include molecular data. I combine novel DNA sequence data from Cytochrome oxidase I and II with morphological matrices for exemplar species. The results challenge current concepts of Gelechioidea, suggesting that traditional morphological characters that have united taxa may not be homologous structures and are in need of further investigation. Resolution of this problem will require more detailed analysis and more thorough characterization of certain lineages. To begin this task, I conduct in Chapter Five an in- depth study of morphological evolution, host-plant selection, and geographical distribution of a medium-sized genus Depressaria Haworth (Depressariinae), larvae of ii which generally feed on plants in the families Asteraceae and Apiaceae.

Gillette Museum of Arthropod Diversity, Department of Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO 80523 Abstract A list of 1531 species ofLepidoptera is presented, collected over 15 years (1988 to 2002), in eleven southern West Virginia counties. A variety of collecting methods was used, including netting, light attracting, light trapping and pheromone trapping. The specimens were identified by the currently available pictorial sources and determination keys. Many were also sent to specialists for confirmation or identification. The majority of the data was from Kanawha County, reflecting the area of more intensive sampling effort by the senior author. This imbalance of data between Kanawha County and other counties should even out with further sampling of the area. Key Words: Appalachian Mountains,

A checklist of Pterophoridae species of the fauna of Afghanistan is presented, as including 32 species of 14 genera. Merrifieldia tridactyla is for the first time recorded for the fauna of Afghanistan. The basic literature on the Afghanistan Pterophoridae were used in the study. Key words: Pterophoridae, plume moths, Afghanistan, fauna, new data. INTRODUCTION Many Pterophoridae as Cossidae are specific inhabitants of the arid regions of the Palaearctic. Usually deserts are good zoogeographical barriers preventing from mixing the faunas of different zoogeographical regions (Yakovlev & Dubatolov 2013; Yakovlev, 2015; Yakovlev et al., 2015). Until now there were no special publications on Pterophoridae from Afghanistan. The first description of a new species of Pterophoridae, Stenoptilia nurolhaki, from Afghanistan was in the work by Amsel (1967), In a series of works by Ernst Arenberger (1981, 1987, 1995), six new species were described from Afghanistan.

  • Lepidoptera) Records of Microlepidoptera from Denmark in 2018 (Lepidoptera)
Fund af småsommerfugle fra Danmark i 2018 (Lepidoptera) Records of Microlepidoptera from Denmark in 2018 (Lepidoptera) Otto Buhl, Per Falck, Ole Karsholt, Knud Larsen & Flemming Vilhelmsen Correspondance to: Småsommerfuglelisten, Zoologisk Museum, Universitetsparken 15, DK-2100 København Ø, Danmark, e-mail: [email protected] Abstract This article reports and comments on interesting Danish Microlepidoptera collected in 2018 and includes remarkable records from previous years. The classification and nomenclature follow the Danish checklist (Karsholt & Stadel Nielsen, 2013). Seven species are reported as new to the Danish fauna: 1) Micrurapteryx kollariella (Zeller, 1839) and 2) Caloptilia honoratella (Rebel, 1914) (Gracillariidae); 3) Dichomeris latipennella (Rebel, 1937) and 4) Scrobipalpa bryophiloides Povolný, 1966 (Gelechiidae); 5) Aethes bilbaensis (Rössler, 1877) (Tortricidae); 6) Hodebertia testalis (Fabricius, 1794) and 7) Cynaeda pustulalis (Hübner, 1823) (Crambidae). All were collected in one or two specimens with automatic light traps, apart from S. bryophiloides which was taken at light and H. testalis which was collected on sugar ropes. Stenoptilia veronicae Karvonen, 1932 replaces Stenoptilia eborinodactyla Zagulajev, 1986 in the Danish list. The introduced species Prays oleae (Bernard, 1788) is removed from the list as the only specimen recorded from Denmark belongs to Prays citri (Millière, 1873). The total number of Danish Gracillariidae is now 91, Gelechiidae 182, Tortricidae 395, and Crambidae 128. This results in a total of 1629 species of Microlepidoptera (families Micropterigidae–Zygaenidae + Pyralidae–Crambidae) found in Denmark. The total number of Macrolepidoptera species recorded from Denmark is 978, bringing the number of Danish Lepidoptera to a total of 2607 species. This is the 40th article in the series of yearly lists of Microlepidoptera from Denmark published in Entomologiske Meddelelser.

  • Microlepidoptera in Nederland, Vooral in 2007-2010 Met Een Terugblik Op 30 Jaar Faunistisch Onderzoek
