Wisconsin Badgers
The Rage Page Volume XII Issue XVIII The Official Newsletter of the Maize Rage 23 February 2011 Welcome back to Crisler Arena for a spectacular weeknight match-up against the #12 Wisconsin Badgers. Coming off an exciting OT victory in Iowa City last Saturday, the Wolverines return home with more than just an NIT bid on their mind. With games at Minnesota and against Michigan State left, a win tonight will go a long way in determining the future of this program. Wisconsin comes to Ann Arbor tonight after a roller-coaster two weeks, which included a tough OT win at Iowa (sound familiar?), an upset of the then #1 ranked Buckeyes, a disappointing loss at Purdue, and a fairly simple win against Penn State. The truth is, the Wolverines need signature wins if they want to think about going dancing in March. Let’s show the country that this young team can play some good basketball, so cheer you brains out (even if you still have mid-term exams) and Go Blue! Here is the projected starting lineup for the Wisconsin Badgers (20-6, 10-4 Big Ten): 11 Jordan Taylor 6’1” G In an interview last December, Jordan claimed, “I read the Harry Potter books. That’s about as extensive as my literature goes.’’ 21 Josh Gasser* 6’3” G Josh netted 11 points against PSU last weekend, but in five chances he has never followed a double-digit game with another. 24 Tim Jarmusz 6’6” G/F Even though Jarmusz lacks the offensive ability, he’s in the starting lineup because of his seniority and his ability to not make stupid mistakes. -

To the Rafters: Heat Retire Shaq's Jersey
SPORTS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 24, 2016 Curry and Durant thriving together OAKLAND: As shootaround wrapped up one morning last weekend, once Stephen Curry had concluded his methodi- cal session flicking jumpers from every spot on the same practice court he always uses, Kevin Durant took a pass from the MVP’s main rebounding man, Bruce Fraser, and let fly an extra-long 3-pointer from the right wing. Swish, Steph-style. When Curry recently hosted 14 children and their families through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and handed out shoes and bags, Durant did his part: He walked up and introduced himself to all the visitors, too, with plen- ty of high-fives. For everyone who questioned whether Curry and Durant could coexist and put their egos aside for the greater good - a championship chase, of course - the Golden State Warriors are a couple of months into the season and the two superstars are thriving together, feeding off one anoth- er and cherishing the chance to create spectacular plays night after night with arguably the best team in the NBA. As far as their on-court chemistry, it’s obvious to anyone who watches they’re having a blast. And, “they learn a lot from each other. ... They’ve had plenty of discussions talking to each other trying to help each other out on the floor,” teammate Ian Clark said. Each guy mentions experiencing “wow” moments playing alongside the other for a team regularly reaching 30 assists. Golden State has even posted a handful of 40-assist performances. The wow factor “Most definitely,” Durant said. -

Many have hypothesized that this overrepresentation is caused by the presumed reliance on sports as an avenue out of poverty for the African American youths. -
