The Board of Reference: • gives general advice on the running of the school and makes constructive suggestions.
• acts as an unbiased third party, to hear the views of both sides in any problem or difficulty and, having considered all the relevant information, to give an independent recommendation.
The Board of Reference is not a Board of Governors and can act in an advisory capacity only. A final decision will always rest with the Head.

At St Pete r’s we operate safer r ecruitment of staff procedures. T hese include DBS ch ecks and complia nce with the Indepen dent School Standards r egulatio ns.
The Chi ldren Act 2004 requir es all school staff to pass on concerns r elat ing to the welfare of the children in our care, s hou ld we feel that the child is at ri sk from abuse.
Claire S mith (Director of Pastoral Care/Head of Upper School/Director of Learn ing Succe ss) is the Desig nated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Charlotte Johnston (Head) and Rob Parker are the Deputy DSLs. The DSLs also have specif ic respon sibi lity for safeguar ding children in the EYFS setting and lia sing with Devon LCS B. All DSLs h ave received traini ng in the ir ro le in Child Protect ion and interag ency working from Devon LA. D SLs attend refr esher cours es every two years. The entire sc hool sta ff and volunteers are updated annu all y.
Jonathan Mi ddleton, the school ’s owner, is the d esignated g overnor for safeguar ding. FIXTURE VENUES
Parents and friends are most welcome to come and support matches. In case of cancellation or change of venue on the day of the match parents will be advised. Collection times for home and away matches can be found in the weekly information letter, which is published every Friday.
