“Great discoveries and improvements invariably involve the cooperation of many minds. I may be given credit for having blazed the trail, but when I look at the subsequent developments I feel the credit is due to others rather than to myself.” ~Alexander Graham Bell

Coming up on Sept. 26 at 7pm is our inaugural “Town Hall Meeting,” co- sponsored by the Darien Committee for Intergovernmental Coordination and the Carriage Greens Country Club. When we founded the Darien Committee for Intergovernmental Coordination, our vision was to have all the taxing districts in the City of Darien communicate regularly to find opportunities to work better to provide services and find efficiencies to save taxpayers money. The committee has had many successes—we now assist each other in our communications to residents, making sure everyone hears important news, and on many projects such as road repairs, building projects, and snow removal. Now the committee is introducing a new annual event that we would love for you to attend. Participating entities include:

• City of Darien • Darien Park District • Indian Prairie Library • Darien School District 61 • Darien School District 63 • Darien School District 66 • Hinsdale South District 86 • Darien-Woodridge Fire Department • Tri-State Fire Department • Darien Chamber of Commerce

Each district will have a booth, providing information on services and will have members present to discuss opportunities and challenges facing their district. In addition, I will be giving a “State of the City” address and answering any questions. You can register and submit questions for me at the Darien Chamber of Commerce’s website at darienchamber.com. If you cannot make it, or have questions or suggestions on any topic in the City of Darien, please feel free to call City Administrator Bryon Vana at 630-353-8114. If you would like more information on the City of Darien, please visit our website at darien.il.us
