Anglian Water Information

Homeowners… are responsible for sewers on your property that serve only your property.

Anglian Water… is responsible for all other sewers, including any pipes you share with your neighbours and some surface water pipes, which take rainwater away from your home.

The Environment Agency… deals with flooding from rivers and the sea and is responsible for the flood defences that protect against this. The local council may also have responsibility for some smaller rivers

Highways Agency… is responsible for surface water pipes which take rainwater from roads, pavements and road gullies.

N. Generic Emergency Action Check List

If an emergency is reported to a member of the CEPR by the community and it is 1 possible that the emergency services are not aware, call 999 as soon as possible (see Section A.1 above) for additional information to give)

Contact and inform the Northamptonshire County Council and the Environment 2 Agency. Take note of any safety advice given to you and discuss at the CEPR meeting.

Keep a decision/action log and record the following: • Any decisions you have made 3 • Who you spoke to and what you said • Any information received

Contact the other members of the CEPR (see Section A for contact details) • Those specifically under threat 4 • The Parish Council via the Parish Clerk • Volunteers and key holders as appropriate

Organise a CEPR meeting in a venue, which is safe from the emergency with safe 5 access routes. Refer to the agenda in ‘other information’ below before undertaking any actions.

Decide actions to undertake e.g. consider the need for: 6 Setting up a Parish Shelter, visiting and checking on vulnerable people, providing a soup kitchen, a warm place, distributing sandbags, providing blankets.

Decide how to inform the community of the emergency and actions being undertaken. 7 Inform the community of any advice given to you from the County/ District/Borough Councils, Environment Agency or the emergency services. Request the community to tune into the local radio.

8 Inform the County Council of any decisions that have been made.

Remember to regularly liaise with the County/District/Borough Council and the 9 Environment Agency to maintain the safety of the community.
