태권도 선후배 태권도 가족들에게 태권도의 이름으로 문안 드립니다.
1972년 태권도 중앙도장으로 개원한 국기원은 태권도의세계화와 무예 태권도의 활성화에 선도 역할을 해왔습니다. 국기원은 1973년 제1회 세계태권도선수권대회 개최와 세계태권도연맹 발족을 주도함으로써 태권도 세계화의 기틀을 마련했 을 뿐 아니라, 각 관별로 난립하던 초창기 태권도의 화합을 이끌어 낸 결과, 1978년 10대관(청도관, 무덕관, 지도관, 송무관, 창무관, 강덕원, 정도관, 오도관, 한무관, 관리관) 통합을 이룩하는 등 태권도 발전의 초석을 다졌습니다.
이제 태권도는 명실공히 세계인의 무도로 성장하였고, 올림픽에서 세계 스포츠인들이 선의의 경쟁을 하는 스포츠의 장으로도 성장발전 하였습니다. 국기원은 미국 각 지역도장에 발전과 성장을 희망하며 국기원컵이라는 이름으로 작게나마 개별 도장을 후원하고 기억하려고 합니다.
2017년 11월 3-4일에 걸쳐 국기원이 후원하고 저희 AMA가 주최합니다. 이 자리에 태권도인 모두를 초대합니다. 이번 국기 원컵 태권도 대회는 기존의 방법과는 달리 겨루기, 품새, 격파를 함께 시연하도록 하여 종합 점수로 1,2,3위를 결정합니다.
각 도장에서 학생들에게 사범은 겨루기, 품새, 격파 모두를 중요한 과목으로 다루어 학생들에게 수련을 하도록 합니다. 하지만 시합은 한 가지에 더 중점을 두고 치러지는 것이 안타까워 하신 이현곤사범님의 아이디어로 모든 종목을 골고루 시연하여 종 합 점수로 승자를 가리는 방식으로 운영합니다. 현 국기원에서도 승단심사는 품새, 겨루기, 그리고 격파를 포함하여 승단심사 를 진행합니다. 그래서 시합도 국기원의 심사처럼 축제의 방법으로 모두가 함께 즐기고 서로를 배우자는 방법으로 선의의 경 쟁의 장으로 만들려고 합니다.

Dear Friends and family in Taekwondo,
Kukkiwon as the World Taekwondo Headquarters has vitalized Taekwondo in the form of the leading maral art by globalizing it since its foundaon 1972. It laid the groundwork for Taekwondo's globalizaon by holding the 1st World Taekwondo Championships and es tab- lishing the World Taekwondo Federaon (WTF) in 1973.
In 1978, Kukkiwon finally succeeded to unify Taekwondo by integrang ten separate Taekwondo Kwans: Chung Do Kwan, Moo Duk Kwan, Jido Kwan, Song Moo Kwan, Chang Moo Kwan, Kang Duk Won, Jung Do Kwan, Oh Do Kwan, Han Moo Kwan and Kwan li Kwan.
Kukkiwon connued to culvate the Taekwondo spirit and skills aer establishing WTF and the 1st World Taekwondo Championsh ips.
As we all know, Taekwondo is no longer for just the people of Korea. It has become the maral art of all people. It became an Olympic sport, an excellent tool for elite athletes compete in the spirit of sports. The Kukkiwon understands that without you and your Dojang, all of this would not be possible- So they best wishes for each local Dojang and hope that you connue to grow. The Kukkiwon would like to support in any way possible.
We would like to invite you for 2017 Kukkiwon Cup; this event is sanconed by the Kukkiwon and hosted by the King Tiger Taekwondo Associaon. The 2017 Kukkiwon Cup is a bit different from ordinary Taekwondo Championships. Here is why: - All competors must perform Kyorugi, Poomsae, and Kyukpa - Scores will be totaled and 1, 2, 3 winners will be chosen - All Kukkiwon belt exam requirements are Kyorugi, Poomsae, and Kyukpa, so we implemented this idea into the Kukkiwon Cup. Which means All Around Winner. However, we will also recognize individual division winners as well. - Grand Championship for Poomsae and Kyorugi, it may be only a few selecve divisions.
We would like to make the 2017 Kukkiwon Cup be a fesval for all Taekwondo competors and families. Please come and be part of it.

GENERAL INFORMATION Qualifications Taekwondo practitioners ages 5 and up, all ranks including White Belt, who have trained and understand the Kukkiwon Taekwondo competition rules. Poomsae Guideline POOMSAE COMPETITORS MUST PERFORM ONLY THE POOMSAE DESIGNATED FOR THEIR SPECIFIC RANK AND COMPETITORS WILL CHOOSE ONE FORM. Demo team performance guideline
*** If nine(9) or more team register we are going to have elimination match on Friday, November 3, 2017, 5 -7:00 PM
· Stage size 10 m x 10 m · Demo Team Fee: $200 ( Minimum requirement in a group: 15 people) · Everyone involved in the demonstration will be considered a member regardless of how small or large the role. · At least 75% of Demo Team Members must also be registered participants in the individual competi- tion. · Your performance must be 6 minutes long, plus 1 minute of set-up time and 1 minute of clean-up time. The performance timer will automatically start after 1 minute of set-up time, so if your team exceeds the set-up time limit, in addition to losing points, you will be using up your performance time. · The Demo Team competition will be judged by a panel of judges composed of representatives from each competing team. Each team must send 1 representative to serve on the judges’ panel. It is pref- erable that your representative is a Black Belt, but you are welcome to send someone with no or little TKD experience as long as he/she understands the judging guidelines. · Demo Teams should be made up primarily of students. The number of participating Masters/Interns must not exceed 10% of your Demo Team member count. (Remember that members are anyone par- ticipating in the performance, including board holders, helpers, etc.) Any Master/Intern performance CANNOT exceed 10% of your demonstration time. · Special breaking materials need to be pre-approved. If you plan to use special breaking materials (concrete, fire, ice, or anything other than standard wood boards), you MUST get preapproval or take a chance at disqualification or point deduction. · A music player will be provided with USB Flash Drive and digital options (such as iPod). It will be the responsibility of each team to test out the player ahead of time. Any technical difficulty that oc- curs during the performance is not the responsibility of the Championship host. The ONLY availa- ble times to test the system are Friday, November 3, 5-7pm or Saturday, November 4, before 8:45am. I understand that the competition rules are based on the rules of the KUKKIWON. I agree to all the tournament competition rules and understand that if I do not follow these rules, I knowingly forfeit all applicable registration fees. I further under- stand that any pictures taken of me in connection with the 2017 KUKKIWON CUP may be used by the Tournament Director for publicity or promotion without compensation. I hereby agree to all the terms and conditions of the liability waiver above. I understand that in case of injury, only basic first aid will be available on site, and that I am fully responsible for any and all resulting medical or other expenses.
