"Petiquette" - Please make sure your stay with your pet is enjoyable by following these simple rules  We welcome responsible and respectful pet owners with clean, well-behaved pets.  The Front Desk must be notified at or before check-in of any pets on the premises.  We ask that pets not be left unattended in a room. If they must be left unattended, they should be in a crate. Plastic sheeting should be placed under each crate and between the crate and wall. Unattended pets must not disturb other guests.

 Housekeeping must be allowed to clean the guest room with at least every two days. Arrangements should be made with the Front Desk.  UDC guests should bring heavy plastic sheeting to place under crates or request the hotel to provide same. If are to be allowed supervised freedom in the room, the hotel requests that the guest request special sheets to cover the spreads or that the spreads be removed, whatever works. We expect all our members to be appreciative of hotels that allow dogs.  Pets should be leashed at all times when out of the guest room.  Pets should be walked in grass areas surrounding the hotel, and each pet owner should clean up after their own pet, utilizing the outdoor receptacles that will be provided.

 Pet owners and not the UDC will be responsible for any damage to a guest room or any hotel property. This includes, but not limited to, replacement cost for carpeting if odors or stains cannot be removed with traditional cleaning methods.

Judges Bios

Dr. May Jacobson

Dr. Jacobson has been a Doberman aficionado for over 35 years and during that time she has bred under the kennel name Chalmar. She has bred over 30 American champions including some best in show winners along with breeding the second Doberman ever to achieve an AKC championship and a SchH3 title.

She has judged Dobermans in America, Europe, South America, Asia and Scandinavia including being elected to judge the AKC National Specialty in America four times.

Norbert Daube

Norbert Daube has been a judge Dobermann Verein for over 20 years and is the current Breed Warden for the Dobermann Verein in . He is one of the most respected and knowledgeable Dobermann judges in the world and we are honored he will be coming to judge our National as well as judging the ZTP being held after the Nationals by the host club CVDC.

Barbara Bender

My lifelong love of dogs and Dobermans in particular began with my marriage to Bob Bender in 1969. Bob had been breeding and showing Dobermans since the early 1950's, and I became totally immersed in his hobby. Together Bob and I trained, showed, and finished many Dobermans, and later Giant in both the breed ring and obedience, having to our credit two owner handled Best in Show Dobermans, and an owner handled Best in Show Giant .

I began judging in 1985, and have had the privilege of judging the Club of America National Specialty as well as judging the first year that this organization held a top twenty competition, patterned after the DPCA top twenty event. In 2012 I judged the Regional best of breed competition held at the Doberman National Specialty, as well as the Top Twenty Event. What a truly remarkable experience to see all of those quality Dobermans. Temperament and trainability have always had high priority in our breeding program, as Bob was instrumental in developing the Sacramento Police Department dogs units, and worked a Doberman (Commando's Titian Skipper, CD "Skipper") the last five years of Bob's career with that department. It was truly an amazing experience to be part of a trained 's working career and live with such a remarkable animal. Having owned, bred and loved many Dobermans throughout the years, I truly enjoy judging this magnificent breed. I am particularly honored to have been selected to judge your specialty and look forward to the assignment.

Glenn Stephenson Mr. Stephenson has been involved in the sport world for over 30 years and is currently a resident of Colorado. He has competed in shows and in sport with multiple breeds and currently owns Mallinios.

He is a seasoned competitor at all levels from club trials to world championships and is licensed to judge trials for UScA, USRC, AWMA, SV and FCI. Mr. Stephenson has judged national level competition and will be this year's obedience judge at the Championships as well as our UDC Nationals. Mary Lou Just

Don and I got our first in 1969 and have since put approximately 50 AKC titles on them including Grand CH, CH, TDX, UD, RE, HS. We have both served as president of the Standard Schnauzer Club of America and have served in too many other capacities in the SSCA, SSCNC, SJKC, SJDTC, GCKC to even count! I started judging obedience in 1991, then added Standard and Giant Schnauzers and continue to enjoy judging the absolute beginner as well as the top competitive dogs. Because the Doberman and the Standard Schnauzer process information so much the same I especially enjoy your Dobes and look forward to judging them at your show. Joel Monroe

Joel has competed at all levels of IPO and has titled GSDs, Mals and Dobermans. He is great with all levels from puppies just starting out to dogs competing at national levels. He is the training director of Way Out West Schutzhund Club which just hosted the 2013 GSD Nationals and he is the owner of Big Valley . Joel is certified through UScA and DVG as a teaching level helper and a training level helper.
