TODAY’S PROBABLE PITCHERS LHP Clayton Kershaw opened the Dodgers’ Cactus League season on Feb. 25, against the White Sox tossing one perfect inning in addition to striking out one. Kershaw was limited by a back injury to just 21 starts last year, but went 12-4 with a 1.69 ERA, the lowest mark in the Majors among pitchers with at least 140.0 or more innings. He also topped the big leagues with a .184 opponents’ batting average, a 0.72 WHIP and a 15.64 -to-walk ratio, with 172 strikeouts and only 11 walks in 149.0 innings.

LHP Alex Wood last appeared during the Dodgers Spring Training opener where he pitched two innings giving up three hits, two runs and striking out one. The lefty enters his third season with the Dodgers after appearing in just 14 games (10 starts) last year due to a left elbow impingement. Despite a 3.73 ERA, Wood went just 1-4, while limiting opposing hitters to a .245 batting average with 66 strikeouts against just 20 walks in 60.1 innings. After his lengthy DL stint, Wood returned to the active roster as a reliever on Sept. 19 and was on the Dodgers’ NLCS roster vs. the Cubs.

RHP Sergio Romo enters his 10th Major League season and first in after spending his first nine seasons with the Giants where he posted a 32-26 career record with a 2.58 ERA and 84 saves in 515 games.
