He started playing in his early teens when his brother Rudolf brought home a Flying V guitar, which captured Michael's imagination. Schenker debuted with Scorpions on their debut album Lonesome Crow at age 16 and was lauded at the time for his mature technique. After Scorpions, Schenker joined upcoming UK band UFO under somewhat unusual circumstances. UFO left the UK to play some dates in Germany, and Scorpions were hired to open for them. UFO's guitarist Bernie Marsden forgot his passport and was unable to make the first gig. At the venue members of UFO spotted Michael playing a sound check with the Scorpions and managed to persuade him into playing that evening's show. Shortly afterwards Schenker was offered the lead guitar spot in UFO and, with the blessing of his brother Rudolf, accepted it. Schenker wrote the music for most of UFO's major label (Chrysalis Records) debut album Phenomenon. His playing on this and subsequent UFO albums attracted attention from music critics and especially from the guitar community. -

J Tigertailz Interview with AOR legend and glam gongist Matt Blakout 1) When you appeared from out of nowhere on the Tigertailz drum stool in 2005 - like some kind of glam ninja - many of the band's fans would have been unfamiliar with you, but you have been in the 'Tailz circle for many years.... Yes, very true. I've been aware of who the members are and I’ve known them individually for many years. I first met Jay back in around 92/93 at Metro’s in Newport and soon after became friends with the legendary Steve C Bright, who was then in City Kidds. Many years after that I was playing in City Kidds so obviously got to know the rest of the band and we played football on a Sunday - except for Kim who I’ve not seen do anything too physical. I then lived with Mikey who now manages Tigertailz and makes all my dreams come true. 2) Your recruitment seemed to give the band a real kickstart. I can’t take the credit for that I’m afraid, as I don’t know what was going on in the band before I joined. I think with me they felt like a unit and, not to be detrimental to previous drummers, everything just locked together and it felt very equal - that is, I felt an equal part. I brought something to the band and that’s what makes a band, the sum of it’s parts. 3) You appear to be very fan-friendly with frequent message board posts and updates making you a virtual stepping stone between band and fan. -

En materia de política, Ronald Reagan gobernó de 1981 a 1989, en una administración recordada principalmente por su manejo de la economía y la política exterior. En el caso de la primera, ésta tuvo como principales medidas la reducción de la emisión de moneda, la baja de los impuestos y la apertura del mercado exterior, todo ello para reducir la inflación y reactivar el crecimiento, lo que en un inicio trajo resultados alentadores que después se tornarían funestos debido al exceso de la especulación y al hecho de que tal política ayudó a incrementar la disparidad entre ricos y pobres. Only 2000 of each CD will be made available. Some of you may be asking, just who is Lillian Axe? Well, just ask them and they’ll tell you they’re the most under rated melodic metal band you’ve never heard of. That remains to be seen, but Lillian Axe arrived on the metal scene back in 1984, paying their dues on the club circuit, until 1988 when they released their debut self-titled album. The album was produced by Ratt’s Robbin Crosby, and has plenty of that 80s melodic metal sound that you would expect. “Dream of a Lifetime” is heavy on guitars and vocal melody. “Inside Out” keeps the melodic vocals intact, but adds more crunch to the guitar riffage. “Picture Perfect” sparks comparisons to Ratt, Poison, and LA Guns with its catchy chorus, simplistic lyrics, and hard rocking edge. “The More That You Get” has a great sing-along chorus. “Misery Loves Company” is still a Lillian Axe live show standard. It’s anthemic in its presentation. The group inserts back-to-back ballads with the acoustic based “Nobody Knows” and the keyboard heavy “Hard Luck.” Lead guitarist Stevie Blaze, vocalist Ron Taylor, rhythm guitarist Jon Ster, bassist Rob Stratton, and drummer Danny King return with bandanas, high hair, and mascara all intact for 1989’s Love + War.
