GOODWILL RETRO RENDEZVOUS FACT SHEET

Theme: The Art of Transformation

2014 is Goodwill’s 11th Retro Rendezvous and we are definitely celebrating it in style. Transformation is the centerpiece of the entire night’s entertainment. We are tipping our hats to illusion with the Master Magician Brett Daniels, a Waukesha native and two-time recipient of the “Entertainer of the Year” award and who was voted “Magician of the Year” in Las Vegas. Definitely one of the evening’s highlights are two finalists from “America’s Got Talent,” Joe Castillo and Catapult Dance Troupe. Joe’s talent, SandStory, is the art of telling stories with sand. Using a light table and just his hands, art images are created by drawing in sand. This captivating performance is scored and choreographed to powerful and emotive music. Catapult Dance Troupe is a shadow-dance company whose dancers have the skills to transform their bodies into seemingly impossible images. Home Free, a country-focused a cappella group who won the fourth season of The Sing- Off, will amaze during their high-energy show!

Each year, the most anticipated guests are our nine . New and returning athletes include Wide Receivers and Randall Cobb; Offensive Tackle David Bakhtiari; Champion, Green Bay Packers Wide and Goodwill spokesperson ; Super Bowl Champion and Green Bay Packers Defensive End ; Super Bowl Champion and Green Bay Packers Running Back, ; storied Green Bay Packers and two-time Super Bowl Champions -- , Offensive Lineman; Dave Robinson, Linebacker, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013 and , Halfback and Punter.

Donald Driver and Goodwill

Donald Driver, has been part of EVERY Retro Rendezvous, he is Goodwill’s spokesperson in addition to being a Super Bowl Champion, the Green Bay Packers all-time leading receiver, author, winner of the hit reality show “,” and a 2014 Miss America judge. The relationship between Goodwill and Donald began simply enough, an autograph session at the opening of a new Goodwill Store & Donation Center. His genuine concern that everyone who waited in line must receive an autograph had him staying well beyond his contracted time. This kindness and work ethic left a lasting impression, enough so, that Goodwill decided to find out more about him. What they found was a life story that could have been lived by many of the people served by Goodwill. Donald started out in 7th grade stealing cars with his brother, and his family, for a time, had to live in the back of a U-Haul truck. But there were people who believed in him and they provided Donald a chance to attend college at Alcorn State where his work ethic earned him an accounting degree and star status in football and track. Leaving football after 14 years was hard, but Donald has thrived. His official memoir, “Driven” was a New York Times bestseller and checked in as the third highest selling sports book of 2013. Later this year he will be releasing his fourth children’s book, “Quickie Stands Up to a Bully!”
