Mondelez sells Domino, Fanipala and Jaffa

Helsinki, Finland – 27th April 2016.

Earlier this week, Mondelēz International signed a deal that entails Fazer’s acquisition of the Domino, Fanipala and Jaffa brands from Mondelez.

–As part of Mondelēz International’s ambition to be the leading global snack business, we are announcing a proposed change to our Biscuit business, predominantly in Finland and Baltics, which will allow us to focus our company’s core portfolio and create more fuel for growth, states Jutta Karppi, Managing Director of Mondelez Finland.

According to Karppi, the sale of these brands will allow Mondelez to fully focus on its global and regional powerbrands, such as , TUC, and , and will position the company for sustainable long term growth. Going forward, Mondelez will focus in developing the growing snacking market in close co-operation with its customers.

–It is difficult to part with such great brands, as Domino, Fanipala and Jaffa are truly local jewels, but I am sure these brands will have a great future with their new owner, she adds.

–We are confident that with this move we create a sharper portfolio of brands that promises profitable growth and investment efficiencies that will help to add value to Mondelez as a whole. We have a great ability to drive growth with our power brands across the globe and I am eager to see brands like Oreo and TUC to reach their full potential in Finland too.
