Le chitarre sono dello stesso Phil Palmer così come la produzione del singolo, insieme a Max Minoia. La direzione artistica è stata curata da Numa. Cosatinta: “Amore controvento” Si sente eccome la mano di uno dei più grandi musicisti al mondo: Phil Palmer che ho avuto l’onore di vedere dal vivo e di conoscere personalmente, durante uno dei pochissimi concerti degli Spin 1ne 2wo, nel 1993. Un fuoriclasse, che mette a disposizione della band siciliana la sua arte eccelsa, confezionando un singolo semplicemente spettacolare. Un singolo molto “zeriano”, di ultima generazione, per atmosfere, suoni e feeling, “Amore controvento” ha tutte le carte in regola per diventare un top hit. Una canzone d’amore, forse non orecchiabile al primo ascolto, ma assolutamente radiofonica, ideale compagna di viaggio, mentre si è al volante, meglio se su una litoranea, con il mare come panorama. Molto interessante la voce, che interpreta il testo con trasporto e sentimento. “Amore controvento” dovrebbe essere il primo capito di un progetto più ampio: lo aspetto con curiosità e interesse. Video & Credits Più che un videoclip, un vero e proprio short movie, per la regia di Numa, che vede protagonisti la stessa Gianna Simonte e Alfredo Gilè. Girato in Sicilia, sulla spiaggia di Guidaloca a Castellammare del Golfo in provincia di Trapani e a Palermo, è un bellissimo spot alla Sicilia, ai suoi panorami e al suo mare. E’ interessante notare come, sui titoli di coda, il refrain strumentale della canzone, si riveli un perfetto soundtrack. Chissà che tutta la canzone non venga utilizzata, prima o poi, come colonna sonora di un ﬁlm: sarebbe il giusto riconoscimento. Interviews & Tour Warm-Up Review Articolo di: Saloni Kaul [1] I wasn’t exactly sure what I was letting myself in for when I decided to go to Nice Living, a restaurant cum live music establishment, reasonably upscale and featuring fine dining, ensconced in the Foro Italico complex, for what promised to be a Tour Warm-Up on August 4th. 2011 by The Legendary Dire Straits. The Dire Straits were celebrated, indeed, in their own right and immensely popular in the eighties but definitely disbanded ! And bandleader Mark Knopfler [2] I checked was elsewhere believably preparing for a tour with Bob Dylan! So who were these? To my surprise when I arrived, I learnt that the leader of this band was Italian. I was taken aback, but was reassured immediately by him that many original members of the English band were playing this night. And Jack Sonni, the only one from the US, was there too. “I shall bring him and the others to you and we’ll have a chat...but after the concert.” A number of former band musicians, performers and collaborators on innumerable albums of the band officially disbanded in 1995, when the charismatic vocalist-guitarist-bandleader Mark Knopfler took a decision in favour of a solo career, it seemed had decided to get together for a warm up concert, a prelude to fullfledged ones in Rome’s vicinity, to revive those long unplayed live but far from forgotten staples of the Straits repertoire.

INFORMATION GUIDE DSL Proudly presents for the first time in the United States DSL (Dire Straits Legacy) on a very limited engagement Summer of 2018 featuring: PHIL PALMER Musical Director – Guitars & Vocals Phil joined Dire Straits in 1990 and played on the band’s On Every Street record and world tour. He is one of the world’s top session guitarists, having played on more than 450 albums and toured with a list of some the world’s greatest artists that is too long to mention; think of a name and Phil has probably played with that person. He was also a member of Eric Clapton’s band along with his DS Legacy colleagues Alan Clark and Steve Ferrone. ALAN CLARK Piano, Hammond Organ and Keyboards Alan joined Dire Straits in 1980, becoming their first and main keyboard player, and played on every tour and record thereafter until the band’s eventual breakup in the mid-1990s. He also co-produced the “On Every Street” album with Knopfler. He has played and recorded with many other artists and was a member of Eric Clapton’s band for several years while Dire Straits took a break, and was Tina Turner’s musical director at the height of her career. DANNY CUMMINGS Percussions & Vocals Danny joined Dire Straits as their percussionist in 1990 and played on the On Every Street album and tour. Outside of Dire Straits, he has worked with many great artists including Tina Turner, George Michael, Bryan Adams, Pino Daniele, and was the drummer in Mark Knopfler’s band for several years.
