Australian Olympic Team – Modern Pentathlon ➢ Modern Pentathlon made its Olympic debut for men in 1912 at the Stockholm Games and for women at Sydney 2000. ➢ Australia have participated in Modern Pentathlon at every Games since Helsinki 1952 (men) and Sydney 2000 (women). • The first Australian male to compete in the Modern Pentathlon was Forbes Carlisle, a world-famous swimming coach who coached Australian Olympic champions before he became a modern pentathlete. The first Australian female to compete was Kitty Chiller, who was the Australian Olympic Team Chef de Mission at Rio 2016. • Australia has won one medal in Modern Pentathlon, with Chloe Esposito winning gold at Rio 2016. Rotary too has done this all over the world. Support with facilities like providing food and rations to the needy, making masks available, appreciating the efforts of the frontline workers, helping in setting up of COVID care facilities to name a few. Amongst all these, there is one noteworthy activity taken up in Chennai by the Rotary Club of Madras. Let’s have a look at a report about it and appreciate it. Calendar Edition C 28 December 2020 International Sports Calendar for 2021 | The 2020 international sports calendar was shattered by the coronavirus. Hopefully, 2021 will be better. This list shows 709 events for the calendar year 2021, plus a few events beyond, for sports on the Olympic and Olympic Winter Games program. Two calendars are offered: first, in chronological order (pp. 2-16) and second, by sport (pp. 17-32). There are no listings, or just a few events for multiple sports which have not yet posted their complete 2021 calendar, including but not limited to, Judo, Rugby Sevens, Skateboarding, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Volleyball (including Beach). These listings are based on publicly-available sources as of 28 December 2020 and will absolutely change thanks to the coronavirus.
