The programme is rounded off by an unrivalled Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26 rendition of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 by the Italian Maestro and his musicians. GUSTAV MAHLER Sweetly flowing melodies and blazing solo passages are the Symphony No. 1 in D major characteristics of Bruch’s First Violin Concerto in G minor and Janine Jansen brings them out perfectly in her play. Following her intense performance, Gatti leads his Violin Janine Jansen orchestra in Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D major. Ever since 25 October 1903, when Mahler himself conducted the Video Director Dick Kuijs Dutch premiere of the First Symphony in Amsterdam, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra has played Mahler’s symphonies Length: approx. 93' with all the great conductors.
