Principal’s Message

Semester two is well on its way and we have just completed our start up assemblies with each student grade. I have highlighted for students the importance of being prepared for post secondary, knowing the requirements for university and college programmes and being aware of what courses are needed in their Grade 10 and 11 years.

The Career Centre is always open and available for students to ask questions and get support. I would encourage all students to think about their future plans and discuss them with parents and guardians.

I also acknowledged the many student accomplishments from Semester 1 such as:

. 95% of students passed their courses . Over 300 students in Work Experience and RAP . $20,000 raised for Helping Hampers . 10 music students selected for the Provincial Honour Band . 8 Grade 12 music students selected for the EPSB High School Honor Band for Night of Music . 3 plays selected from the Ainlay One Act Festival to compete at the city festival . Over 400 students involved in the IB Program.

When students feel they belong to a school through a variety of experiences and programs, their achievement increases.

Harry Ainlay has a lot to offer in second semester. Student Council will continue to arrange activities in the Rotunda and gymnasium for all to participate in. Get involved!

Finally, thank you to all our parents, volunteers, coaches and teachers who assist in many activities throughout the year. Your contribution and dedication to “Titan Life” is outstanding and the students really appreciate it.
