千手千眼大悲懺法 The Great Compassion Repentance Service

大眾齊唱南無大悲觀世音菩薩，迎請和尚及維那進入法會 Everyone chants Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s name while waiting for the service to start.

（Repeat * many * Nan mo da bei guan shi yin pu sa times）南無大悲觀世音菩薩（重覆多次） Let us take refuge in the most compassionate Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.

爐香讚 Incense Praise Lu xiang zha re , Fa jie meng xun , 爐香乍爇，法界蒙薰， Incense burns within the censer, as the dharma realms receive its permeation.

Zhu Fo hai hui xi yao wen , 諸佛海會悉遙聞， Buddhas from every direction perceives it.

Sui chu jie xiang yun 。隨處結祥雲。 Auspicious clouds gather everywhere.

Cheng yi fang yin , Zhu Fo xian quan shen 。誠意方殷，諸佛現全身。 With our sincerity and utmost respect, Buddhas manifest themselves in their entirety.

(Repeat * 3 * Nan mo xiang yun gai pu sa mo he sa Times & prostrations) (三稱南無香雲蓋菩薩摩訶薩三拜) We take refuge in the Fragrant Clouds Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas.

(Please make a half bow） Yi qie gong jing （問訊）一切恭敬 Let us all be solemn.

（One Yi xin ding li shi fang chang zhu san bao prostration and half bow）（頂禮一拜一心頂禮十方常住三寶及問訊） Sincerely prostrate to the Eternal Three Jewels in the Ten Directions.

（Please kneel Shi zhu zhong deng , Ge ge hu gui down）是諸眾等，各各胡跪（請跪下） Everyone in the congregation, please kneel down.

Yan chi xiang hua , Ru fa gong yang 。嚴持香花，如法供養。 Let us hold up the incense and flower, and offer them according to the Dharma.

將桌上裝滿供品的花碟舉起（左手用蓮花指舉起花碟齊眉、右手用食指及中指扶著花碟） Please raise the flower plate containing the sandalwood and flower (with lotus fingers, raise the flower plate to the level of your eyebrow using your left hand; and point to the flower plate using your right index and middle fingers).

Yuan ci xiang hua yun , Pian man shi fang jie 。願此香花雲，遍滿十方界。 May this fragrant flower of incense transverse through all Ten Directions.

Yi yi zhu fo tu , Wu liang xiang zhuang yan 。一一諸佛土，無量香莊嚴。

May it adorn each and every Buddha Land.

Ju zu pu sa dao , Cheng jiu ru lai xiang 。具足菩薩道，成就如來香。 May the limitless incense offerings aid us in walking down the Bodhisattva path in becoming a Tathagata.

（Stay kneeled down and Wo ci xiang hua pian shi fang contemplate the following）我此香花徧十方（跪下並觀想下文） The flower I am holding transforms into a platform that extends to all Ten Directions,

我此香花徧十方。以為微妙光明臺。諸天音樂天寶香。諸天肴膳天寶衣。不可思議妙法塵。一一塵出一切塵。一一塵出一切法。施轉無碍互莊嚴。徧至十方三寶前。十方法界三寶前。悉有我身修供養。一一皆悉徧法界。彼彼無雜無障碍。盡未來際作佛事。普熏法界諸眾生。蒙熏皆發菩提心。同入無生證佛智。 The flower I am holding transforms into a platform that extends to all Ten Directions, of where offerings are being made to the heaven. The incredible and unspeakable Dharma realms reflect upon and dignify each other. I sincerely come before the Three Jewels of all Ten Directions to make offerings. Every single one of my thought is focused, and there is nothing to obstruct my practice. I wish and pray for the fragrance of the flower to reach all Dharma realms in all Ten Directions, and for all sentient beings that sense the fragrance of the flower to give rise to bodhi minds.

Tong ru wu sheng zheng fo zhi 。同入無生證佛智。 With hope we will achieve Buddhahood with no more rebirths.

（Please put down the flower Gong yang yi 。 plate）供養已。（請放下花碟）

（Make one prostration, a half bow, and then Yi qie gong jing 。 kneel down）一切恭敬。（頂禮一拜、問訊及跪下）

Now that the offerings have been made, let us all be solemn.

Nan mo guo qu zheng fa ming ru lai 。 Xian qian 南無過去正法明如來。現前

guan shi yin pu sa 。觀世音菩薩。 The Tathagata who illuminated the Righteous Path of the past is now the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva in front of us.

Cheng miao gong de 。 Ju da ci bei 。 Yu yi 成妙功德。具大慈悲。於一

shen xin 。 Xian qian shou yan 。 Zhao jian fa jie 身心。現千手眼。照見法界 She possesses miraculous merits and virtues and is most compassionate. With one mind and body, she manifests thousands of hands and eyes to illuminate all dharma realms.

Hu chi zhong sheng 。 Ling fa guang da dao xin 。護持眾生。令發廣大道心。 She guides and protects all sentient beings, and encourages them to walk the path of the profound way.

Jiao chi yuan man shen zhou 。 Yong li e dao 。教持圓滿神咒。永離惡道。

De sheng fo qian 。得生佛前。 She teaches the perfect and sacred Dharani, which enables the foregoing of the evil realm forever and rebirths in the Buddha-land..

Wu jian zhong qian 。 Chan shen e ji 。 Mo neng 無間重愆。纏身惡疾。莫能

jiu ji 。 Xi shi xiao chu 。救濟。悉使消除。 All of our endless wrongdoings and grave evils that render us totally helpless will all be dissipated.

San mei bian cai 。 Xian sheng qiu yuan 。 Jie ling 三昧辯才。現生求願。皆令

guo sui 。 Jue ding wu yi 。 Neng shi su huo 果遂。決定無疑。能使速獲

san sheng 。 Zao deng fo di 。三乘。早登佛地。 We will achieve oratory eloquence through Samadhi and all of our wishes may be fulfilled without any doubt. We can attain the three vehicles quickly and the land of the Buddha can also be reached soon.

Wei shen zhi li 。 Tan mo neng qiong 。 Gu wo 威神之力。歎莫能窮。故我

yi xin gui ming ding li 。（One prostration and a half bow）一心歸命頂禮。（頂禮一拜及問訊） This magnificent power deserves endless praise. Thus, single-mindedly, I take refuge and prostrate to thee.

每次頂禮各尊諸佛，請觀想並至誠頂禮諸佛，恭敬三寶。維那引磬一聲。請起立 Whenever you are bowing, please show your sincerity to the Buddhas and the Three Jewels by contemplating wholeheartedly. And when the lead chanter sounds the chime, please rise.

（Please put down the sandalwood & mak e one prostration） (放下檀香木及頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to our teacher -- Sakyamuni Bhagavan.

Yi xin ding li xi fang ji le shi jie A mi 一心頂禮西方極樂世界阿彌

tuo shi zun （One prostration）陀世尊（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Amitabha Bhagavan of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Yi xin ding li guo qu wu liang yi jie qian guang 一心頂禮過去無量億劫千光

wang jing zhu shi zun （One prostration）王靜住世尊（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to the Thousand-Light King of Quietude Bhagavan, who appeared in countless trillions of kalpas in the past.

Yi xin ding li guo qu jiu shi jiu yi ke qie 一心頂禮過去九十九億殑伽

sha zhu fo shi zun （One prostration）沙諸佛世尊（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to all Buddhas Bhagavan, the number of which equals the grains of sand in ninety-nine trillion Ganges Rivers.

Yi xin ding li guo qu wu liang jie zheng fa ming 一心頂禮過去無量劫正法明

shi zun （One prostration）世尊（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to the Bhagavan of Clear Understanding of the Dharma, who appeared in countless kalpas in the past.

Yi xin ding li shi fang yi qie zhu fo shi zun 一心頂禮十方一切諸佛世尊

（One prostration）（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to the Buddhas Bhagavan of all Ten Directions.

Yi xin ding li xian jie qian fo san shi yi qie 一心頂禮賢劫千佛三世一切

（One prostration and half zhu fo shi zun bow）諸佛世尊（頂禮一拜及問訊） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to the one thousand Buddhas Bhagavan of the Bhadra Kalpa and all Buddhas of the Three Periods.

Yi xin ding li guang da yuan man wu ai da bei 一心頂禮廣大圓滿無碍大悲

(放下檀香木及頂心大陀羅尼神妙章句禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to the words and verses of the vast, complete, and unobstructed Great Compassion Dharani.

Yi xin ding li guan yin suo shuo zhu tuo luo ni 一心頂禮觀音所說諸陀羅尼

（One prostration and ji shi fang san shi yi qie zun fa half bow）（頂禮一拜及問及十方三世一切尊法訊） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to all Dharanis discoursed by Avalokitesvara and the Dharma of all Ten Directions and of the Three Periods.

Yi xin ding li qian shou qian yan da ci da bei 一心頂禮千手千眼大慈大悲

（One guan shi yin zi zai pu sa mo he sa prostration）（頂禮一觀世音自在菩薩摩訶薩拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to the thousand armed, thousand eyed, the kindest and most compassionate Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

Yi xin ding li da shi zhi pu sa mo he sa 一心頂禮大勢至菩薩摩訶薩

（One prostration）（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

（One prostration）（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Bodhisattva Mahasatva of Total Control.

Yi xin ding li ri guang pu sa yue guang pu sa 一心頂禮日光菩薩月光菩薩

mo he sa （One prostration ）摩訶薩（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Suryaprabha Bodhisattva Mahasattva and Candraprabha Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

Yi xin ding li bao wang pu sa yao wang pu sa 一心頂禮寶王菩薩藥王菩薩

yao shang pu sa mo he sa （One prostration ）藥上菩薩摩訶薩（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Ratnaraja Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Bhaisajya-raja Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and Bhaisajya-samudgata Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

Yi xin ding li hua yan pu sa da zhuang yan pu 一心頂禮華嚴菩薩大莊嚴菩

sa bao zang pu sa mo he sa （One prostration）薩寶藏菩薩摩訶薩（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Avatamsaka Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Grand Adornment Bodhisattva Mahassattva, and Ratna-grabha Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

一心頂禮德藏菩薩金剛藏菩

sa xu kong zang pu sa mo he sa （One prostration）薩虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Virtue-Adorned Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Vajna-Garbha Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and Akasagarbha Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

Yi xin ding li mi le pu sa pu xian pu sa 一心頂禮彌勒菩薩普賢菩薩

wen shu shi li pu sa mo he sa （One prostration）文殊師利菩薩摩訶薩（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Maitreya Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Samaantabhadra Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and Manjusri Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

Yi xin ding li shi fang san shi yi qie pu sa 一心頂禮十方三世一切菩薩

mo he sa （One prostration）摩訶薩（頂禮一拜） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to all Bodhisattva Mahasattvas of all Ten Directions and the Three Periods.

Yi xin ding li mo he jia she wu liang wu shu 一心頂禮摩訶迦葉無量無數

mo he sa （Make a prostration and half bow）摩訶薩（頂禮一拜及問訊） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Mahakasyapa and the countless Elders of the Sravaka Sangha.

（One prostration and half zhe fa zhi da shi bow）者法智大師（頂禮一拜及問訊） Single-mindedly, we prostrate to Master Fa-chih of the Tien Tai School who taught the four contemplations that lead to illumination.

Yi xin dai wei shan cha fan mo qu po qie tian 一心代為善吒梵摩瞿婆伽天

zi 。 Hu shi si wang tian long ba bu 。 Tong 子。護世四王天龍八部。童

mu tian nu xu kong shen 。 Jiang hai shen 。 Quan 目天女虛空神。江海神。泉

yuan shen 。 He zhao shen 。 Yao zao shu lin shen 源神。河沼神。藥草樹林神

She zhai shen 。 Shui shen 。 Huo shen 。 Feng shen 舍宅神。水神。火神。風神

Tu shen 。 Shan shen 。 Di shen 。 Gong dian shen 土神。山神。地神。宮殿神

deng 。 Ji shou hu chi zhou yi qie tian long gui 等。及守護持咒一切天龍鬼

shen 。 Ge ji juan shu 。 Ding li san bao 。神。各及眷屬。頂禮三寶。

（One prostration, a half bow, and then kneel down） (頂禮一拜、問訊及跪下) Sincerely, we prostrate to the Three Jewels on behalf of all heavenly beings and their families: the four Guardians of the World; the dragons; the spirits of the sky; the spirits of rivers, seas, streams, fountains, and lakes; the spirits of trees and herbs; the spirits of houses and buildings; the spirits of water, fire, wind, and earth; the spirits of mountains; the spirits of palaces; all the spirits who protect the Dharani.

Jing yun ruo you bi qiu bi qiu ni you po se 經云若有比丘比丘尼優婆塞

you po yi tong nan tong nu yu song chi zhe yu 優婆夷童男童女欲誦持者於

zhu zhong sheng qi ci bei xin xian dang cong wo fa 諸眾生起慈悲心先當從我發

ru shi yuan 。如是願。 The Sutra discourses: for any bhiksu, bhiksuni, upasaka, upasika, boy, or girl who wishes to hold and recite the Dharani, he/she must be kind and compassionate to all sentient beings. Let us start by making the following vows.
