LANDOWNER HABITAT HELP DESK

The Habitat Help Desk is an area of the show floor dedicated to helping landowners meet their habitat goals. Landowners can consult with trained wildlife biologists on how to improve their acres for wildlife habitat, as well as what local, state, and federal conservation programs their properties qualify for. Here’s how:

• Bring the legal description of your property (township, range, and section) or have the ability to pinpoint your property’s exact location on the map • Sit down with a trained wildlife biologist from Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever to review your habitat goals and find out what financial and technical programs are available to help you accomplish them • Leave with a free wildlife habitat management plan for your land

Why Habitat? Two factors affect pheasant and quail populations above all others—habitat and weather. While we can’t control the weather, we can influence the quality and quantity of upland habitat. Habitat is what supports long-term strong and healthy pheasant and quail populations. Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism

RUDY’S YOUTH VILLAGE

Rudy the Rooster is Pheasants Forever’s youth mascot, and his village was built on the idea that the outdoors and conservation are lots of fun. The following activities are happening all weekend at Rudy’s Youth Village – make sure to stop by!

• Gun Dog Success for Kids Seminars • Laser Shot • Air Rifle / Airsoft / Archery Ranges • Fishing Simulator • Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) – Meet with SCTP reps to talk about opportunities within SCTP • Activity Center – Hands on activities for kids of all ages

Why Youth? All of the efforts made today by Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have little impact without future conservation leaders taking a stand for wildlife habitat conservation. In an effort to engage and educate future conservation leaders, our organization is dedicated to working with members, chapters, and conservation partners to provide opportunities for youth and their families to share our outdoor traditions.

Pheasants flush wild, fly fast and can soak up pellets and keep on going. That’s why we combined our proven FLITECONTROL wad and FLITESTOPPER pellet technologies to create Prairie Storm®. By staging FLITESTOPPER shot with Premium copper-plated lead, the loads deliver consistent patterns that put more than 75 percent of their pellets in a 30-inch circle at 40 yards*. And the unique FLITESTOPPER pellet design creates deep wound channels. Pheasants are anything but average. Take them down with an extraordinary payload.

Prairie Storm is the official ammunition of Pheasants Forever. A portion of the proceeds from every box sold goes to support the organization’s mission. federalpremium.com
