*RICK DELLARATTA and his band JAZZ FOR PEACE will be performing their first Danbury area concert this weekend at Ives Concert Hall. A jazz pianist and vocalist Mr DellaRatta and special guests JAZZ-BOSSA NOVA will perform music from their recent double live CD release Live in Brazil & The Blue Note on Sunday, November 21, at 2 pm.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Proceeds will benefit Danbury Children First, an organization that promotes understanding among Danbury area’s diverse cultures, strengthens families, and connects families to the community.

This concert will also kick off the local observance of National Family Week, celebrated November 21-27, which embraces the premise that children live better lives when their families are strong, and that families are strong when they live in communities that connect them to economic opportunities, social networks, and services.

Mr DellaRatta’s playing and original composing has been compared to CHICK COREA, HERBIE HANCOCK, WAYNE SHORTER and BILL EVANS, among others. In addition to benefiting nonprofit organizations, Jazz For Peace strives to bring music back into the schools. The group also donates musical instruments to underprivileged children in underdeveloped countries around the world.

Jazz For Peace concerts, launched in 2002, have since raised awareness and money for more than 75 organizations that [promote multi- cultural understanding and peace throughout the world. Visit www.JazzForPeace.org for additional information.

*Just a reminder that HALL & OATES will be returning to The Palace Theatre at Stamford Center for the Arts on Tuesday, November 30. Tickets for that 8 pm concert are still available, priced at $45 to $65 apiece (FYI: $2 of each ticket price is going to the theater’s restoration fee).
