This year saw fruition of several significant academic and developmental programmes, new initiatives and implementation of landmark quality improvement measures in all spheres of the University. With its multifaceted academic strength, the University is forging ahead towards creating spaces for interactive structures of knowledge through mutual collaborations across the divisions of natural sciences, technology, social sciences and humanities, across national boundaries. With sustained efforts, the University continues to be ranked amongst the top three universities in the country. The year has witnessed the establishment of two Institutes, a Faculty and several new Departments. As a phenomenal measure to give a boost to the quality of teaching-learning and research, rigorous faculty recruitment procedure has been proposed. The University, in its XII Plan proposals, has proposed to take up several ambitious projects, aimed at obtaining new pinnacles of success in inter-disciplinary research and studies. All time high infrastructural expansion activities initiated during the past three years continued during the year. Some of the major projects on expansion of infrastructure, initiated in the initial phases, were commissioned and several others are near completion. It is a matter of immense pride that the nation is commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of our visionary founder Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya ji. Under the aegis of National Implementation Committee, chaired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Inaugural Function, to mark the launch of year- long celebrationeventsatthenationallevel,was heldon 27thDecember,2011atVigyan Bhawan,New Delhi.A postal stamp on Mahamana was released by the Hon'ble Prime Minister during the event.
