Indoor Track and Field DIVISION I MEN’S Highlights Florida claims top spot in men’s indoor track: At the end of the two-day gamut of ups and downs that is the Division I NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Champion- ships, Florida coach Mike Holloway had a hard time thinking of anything that went wrong for the Gators. “I don’t know,” Holloway said. “The worst thing that happened to me was that I had a stomachache for a couple of days.” There’s no doubt Holloway left the Randal Tyson Track Center feeling better on Saturday night. That’s because a near-fl awless performance by the top-ranked Gators re- sulted in the school’s fi rst indoor national championship. Florida had come close before, fi nishing second three times in Holloway’s seven previous years as head coach. “It’s been a long journey and I’m just so proud of my staff . I’m so proud of my athletes and everybody associated with the program,” Holloway said. “I’m almost at a loss for words; that’s how happy I am. “It’s just an amazing feeling, an absolutely amazing feeling.” Florida began the day with 20 points, four behind host Arkansas, but had loads of chances to score and didn’t waste time getting started. After No. 2 Oregon took the lead with 33 points behind a world-record performance in the heptathlon from Ashton Eaton and a solid showing in the mile, Florida picked up seven points in the 400-meter dash.

From 16th to 18th August 2017 For this amazing athletics meeting, due to take place at an altitude of over 3000 m, Tignes is proud to confirm the participation of the double Olympic Triple Jump Champion, Christian Taylor. Christian Taylor, second best global performer of all time ( 18,21 m in the final of the World Championships on 27th August 2015 in Beijing), has confirmed his presence at the highest athletics meeting on the planet. Making a promising start to the 2017 season (18,11 m in Eugene last May), the American will attempt to better the World Record of 18,29 m, held since 1995 by Jonathan Edwards. He will compete against his compatriot, Will Claye, also on the podium in Rio. With a record 17.91 m in 2017, this young athlete literally pushed Christian Taylor into a corner during the meeting in Paris, with a jump of 17.18 m. Over the years, the NSAF has grown from helping a few athletes to one that annually enables over 10,000 athletes to participate in various meets and activities. This is the 36th edition of the event, which has had various names since its inception in 1984. We are again happy to have New Balance as our title sponsor.

  • NBNI Meet Program
Welcome We welcome all the outstanding participants to the 2018 New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships. And we wish a special welcome to all parents, coaches, and friends – all of whose support is invaluable. Our organization, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation, does more than present national-caliber track and field and cross country events. We also actively support clinics and other meets with substantial financial commitments. Over the years, NSAF has grown from helping a few athletes to one that annually enables over 10,000 athletes to participate in various meets and activities. This is the 35th edition of the event, which has had various names since its inception in 1984. We are again happy to have New Balance as our title sponsor. New Balance is a wonderful part- ner – we have been together for eight years, and we expect to be together for many more years to come. We mourn the loss of Dr. Norbert Sander, who passed unexpectedly a few days after last year’s meet. Dr. Sander was the driving force in making The Armory what it is today. He is sorely missed. We appreciate The Armory’s new leadership, led by Rita Finkel and Jonathan Schindel, with whom we have a great relationship. We trust that everyone present these three days will have memorable experiences, and we wish everyone great success! Sincerely, Jim Spier Meet Director Congratulations on earning a spot at New Balance Nationals Indoor 2018! Your determination, work ethic, and incredible talent qualified you for this very special world class indoor track & field meet. Like many Olympians before you, your capability created the opportunity to compete at an elite level and enjoy this one of a kind experience.
