Welcome

We welcome all the outstanding participants to the 2018 New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships. And we wish a special welcome to all parents, coaches, and friends – all of whose support is invaluable.

Our organization, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation, does more than present national-caliber and cross country events. We also actively support clinics and other meets with substantial financial commitments. Over the years, NSAF has grown from helping a few athletes to one that annually enables over 10,000 athletes to participate in various meets and activities.

This is the 35th edition of the event, which has had various names since its inception in 1984. We are again happy to have New Balance as our title sponsor. New Balance is a wonderful part- ner – we have been together for eight years, and we expect to be together for many more years to come.

We mourn the loss of Dr. Norbert Sander, who passed unexpectedly a few days after last year’s meet. Dr. Sander was the driving force in making The Armory what it is today. He is sorely missed. We appreciate The Armory’s new leadership, led by Rita Finkel and Jonathan Schindel, with whom we have a great relationship.

We trust that everyone present these three days will have memorable experiences, and we wish everyone great success!

Sincerely,

Jim Spier Meet Director

Congratulations on earning a spot at New Balance Nationals Indoor 2018!

Your determination, work ethic, and incredible talent qualified you for this very special world class indoor track & field meet.

Like many Olympians before you, your capability created the opportunity to compete at an elite level and enjoy this one of a kind experience. At this pinnacle event of the season, we challenge you to take a moment of introspection. Ask yourself what your legacy will be this year; not just in athletic achievement, but also in competitive spirit.

New Balance and the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation are setting the stage for you to never be forgotten. Welcome to NEW BALANCE NATIONALS INDOOR 2018!

The very best of luck to you as you endeavor to run, jump, and throw to the best of your ability!

Project Triple Jump Project Javelin

It’s been a blessed year for the NSAF’s Project Triple Jump – and Please forgive the NSAF Project Javelin Gold athletes if some of never was it more apparent than at the Project’s Chula Vista, them already might be figuratively peeking the corner into the summer ICalifornia clinic in January as some of America’s greatest horizontal P– even though the 2018 outdoor season is just now at hand. That’s jumps legends – Olympians and record-setters , because the Project is planning its first clinic in in late June Kenny Harrison, and Michael Powell – held court and imparted through early July. NSAF will post details later this spring, but the priceless lessons and stories, capturing the attention of the 10 participating student-athletes will have a chance to train with and Project student-athletes, as well as numerous visiting jumpers. learn from the likes of Thomas Röhler, the 2016 Olympic Led by Head Coach Peter Pratt and Project Coordinator Macka champion. First Dunamis Atlanta Super Meet a Big Success

Last year the NSAF announced it would partner with the Dunamis Sports Group and LakePoint Sports to host the first Dunamis Atlanta Super Meet – held at LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson, 35 miles outside of Atlanta. The event was held Feb. 8-11 and was a big success, with more than 2,000 athletes competing on and around Dunamis’ 200m banked oval over four days. Top preps from Georgia and many other states were supported by NSAF grants to compete and stellar performances were turned in by Tamari Davis (3 freshman national records), Tia Jones, Tyson Jones, Jasmine Moore, and many others. Competition was also held in collegiate, youth, masters and open events.
