NINE NATIONAL TV GAMES HIGHLIGHT WEEK 3 OF NFL PRESEASON

Week 3 of the NFL preseason features nine games on national television.

The action starts on Thursday night when the host the (8:00 PM ET, NBC). The game will be played at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium which is also the site of the 2017 NFL (Sunday, January 29, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN).

The week concludes with a triple-header on Sunday, August 28. In the early afternoon slot, the will host the San Diego Chargers in the Vikings’ first game at U.S. Bank Stadium (1:00 PM ET, FOX). The action on Sunday continues with the visiting the at NRG Stadium (4:00 PM ET, FOX), the site of LI. Week 3 of the NFL preseason closes on Sunday night (8:00 PM ET, NBC) with the hosting the .

A closer look at some of the nationally-televised games in Week 3 of the NFL preseason:

ATLANTA FALCONS at MIAMI DOLPHINS (Thursday, NBC, 8:00 PM ET)

 The game will be played in Orlando at Camping World Stadium, the home of the 2017 Pro Bowl.

 Atlanta notched a 24-13 win at Cleveland last week and improved to 2-0 this preseason.  Falcons RB DEVONTA FREEMAN, who was selected to his first Pro Bowl last , rushed for 42 yards on four carries (10.5 average) and scored a last week.

 In last week’s game against Dallas, Miami QB RYAN TANNEHILL threw two touchdown passes to WR KENNY STILLS. The pair connected on a 13-yard TD and a three-yard score, both in the second quarter.  Dolphins RB ISAIAH PEAD had a 45-yard run – the longest by any player in the 2016 preseason – and added a 30-yard reception in the game at Dallas.

DALLAS COWBOYS at (Thursday, NFLN, 10:00 PM ET, joined live in progress)

 The Cowboys and Seahawks will kick off at 10:00 PM ET (7:00 PM PT) on Saturday night. The game will be joined live in progress on NFL Network at 11:00 PM ET (8:00 PM PT).

 Rookie QB DAK PRESCOTT, who was selected in the fourth round (No. 135 overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft, has completed 22 of 27 passes (81.5 percent) for 338 yards with four and no for a 158.3 passer rating – the highest attainable mark – in his first two preseason games. He has also rushed for two TDs.

 Seattle’s rushing attack during the preseason has been led by RB CHRISTINE MICHAEL (99 yards, 5.8 average) and undrafted rookie RB TROYMAINE POPE (96 yards, 8.0 average, one touchdown, one two-point conversion).

CLEVELAND BROWNS at (Friday, CBS, 8:00 PM ET)

 Cleveland QB ROBERT GRIFFIN III completed six of eight passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in last week’s game against Atlanta.  Griffin III threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to WR TERRELLE PYROR in the first quarter and connected with TE GARY BARNIDGE for a 29-yard score in the second quarter.

 Tampa Bay earned its first victory of the preseason with a 27-21 win at Jacksonville.  Rookie CB VERNON HARGREAVES, who was selected by the Buccaneers in the first round (No. 11 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft, had two interceptions against the Jaguars.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at (Saturday, NFLN, 1:00 PM ET)

 Kansas City QB ALEX SMITH completed nine of 12 passes for 137 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in last week’s game at Los Angeles. Smith threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to WR JEREMY MACLIN in the second quarter.  Chiefs RB SPENCER WARE has rushed for a touchdown in each of Kansas City’s games this preseason.

 In last week’s game at New England, Bears rookies LB (first round, No. 9 overall) and DE JONATHAN BULLARD (third round, No. 72 overall) combined for a sack.  Chicago second-year RB JEREMY LANGFORD rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown on eight carries (6.9 average) against the Patriots.

TENNESSEE TITANS at OAKLAND RAIDERS (Saturday, CBS, 8:00 PM ET)

 Titans QB MARCUS MARIOTA has completed 14 of 15 pass attempts (93.3 percent) in two preseason games for 149 yards and one touchdown.  Tennessee rookie RB DERRICK HENRY, who was drafted in the second round (No. 45 overall) after winning the 2015 Heisman Trophy at Alabama, has rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown this preseason, averaging 7.0 yards per carry.

 Raiders DE KHALIL MACK, who had a career-high 15 sacks last year, notched his first sack of the preseason last week against Green Bay.  Rookie RB GEORGE ATKINSON, who signed with Oakland as an undrafted free agent, has rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns in two preseason games, averaging 12.5 yards per carry.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS (Sunday, FOX, 1:00 PM ET)

 This will be the first NFL game at Minnesota’s U.S. Bank Stadium.

 The Chargers defeated Arizona 19-3 last week at Qualcomm Stadium, notching San Diego’s first win of the preseason.  Chargers CB BRANDON FLOWERS had a 25-yard -return touchdown in the win over the Cardinals.

 The Vikings improved to 2-0 in the preseason with an 18-11 victory at Seattle.  Minnesota CB MARCUS SHERELS had a 53-yard interception-return touchdown with 1:23 remaining in the fourth quarter to break an 11-11 tie.

ARIZONA CARDINALS at HOUSTON TEXANS (Sunday, FOX, 4:00 PM ET)

 The Cardinals, who advanced to the NFC Championship Game last year, head to NRG Stadium to face the Texans. Arizona hopes the team’s next trip there will be for Super Bowl LI.  Arizona WR JARON BROWN had two catches for 40 yards (20.0 average) in last week’s game at San Diego.

 The Texans have won both their preseason games, including last week’s 16-9 victory over New Orleans.  Houston rookie WR WILL FULLER, who was drafted in the first round (No. 21 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft, had four catches for 73 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Saints.
