Iain joined the BBC in 1979 as a trainee engineer, but became interested in video tape editing and was appointed video tape editor in 1984. Iain started in the BBC with Quad, C format, U-matic, Betacam sp, digi beta tape and HD formats. He also works with Avid, Baselight Colour Grading and Edit, box since they were introduced at BBC Scotland

Additional Information Iain is a part time session musician on bass guitar, he currently plays with 17 piece big band. He also has a music teacher’s diploma on the accordion - A.B.C.A (T.D), along with perfect pitch, a great benefit for editing music programmes.
