PRAYERS FOR VOCATIONS Prayer for Vocations A Vocations Prayer for Families - Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the eternal Father and Mary Immaculate, we bring to You in prayer the young people of our Church. Give them hearts open to hear Your voice. Help them to be generous in responding to Your call. Give them the grace to persevere in overcoming all the pressures in our world that may keep them from embracing and truly living their vocation. Graciously grant to parents a living faith and an ardent love, which will inspire them to encourage their children to live holy lives. May parents genuinely encourage and foster the God-given vocation of their children and help them to respond generously. Let them rejoice when a child of theirs is called by You to be a priest of religious. May the example of Your life and that of Joseph and Mary help encourage parents and children to form holy families and let Your grace sustain them. Amen. All of us have a vocation – clergy and religious life, married and single. How are you living your vocation? Reprinted from cincinnativocations.org

RESPECT LIFE We Are Making Progress… ―The American people are becoming more pro-life. According to a very significant poll last year, general support for Roe v. Wade fell under fifty percent for the first time since 1973. Most Americans do not support Roe v. Wade, and are against allowing most of the abortions the Court has made legal. We can, moreover, take heart in knowing that spiritual, educational and legislative efforts are making a big difference in the hearts and minds of so many people of good will. More and more citizens are coming to question abortion and to recognize—as a starting point for deeper conversion—that there is something radically wrong with abortion and the support given it by our laws. There is a growing realization that human life and human dignity cannot be suppressed without immense damage to the entire fabric of our nation and numerous consequences. In the midst of the enormous challenge posed by threats to life, there are new reasons to hope that the truth of God’s law will prevail as a great light in our nation as our people move increasingly toward valuing human life from its earliest and most vulnerable stages onward. This is indeed cause for rejoicing in the Lord!‖ – from the homily of Cardinal Justin Rigali, Mass for Life, January 21, 2007. Reprinted from priestsforlife.org

Sharing the Gospel Luke says that God will take care of your needs. If you are hated and others make fun of you for his sake, he may bless you with friends. If you need a bed to sleep on, he may provide it. If you need food to eat, he may send you food. If you are hurt, he may send a doctor to care for you. If you need money, he may help you earn it.

Prayer Lord, show me ways to share with a smile.

Something to Draw Draw a picture of you sharing an extra coat with your friend.

Mission for the Week If I get money for a gift, I will share it with the needy.
