Hyundai Accent: A Sedan for the City

If you don’t often find yourself with a full car of passengers or a packed trunk, the might suit your needs perfectly. This is a popular ride for first-time owners, and it’s not hard to see why: Its chic exterior and range of available features help it seamlessly blend form and function.

Sleek Exterior Features

Despite the small size of the Accent, you’ll never feel embarrassed parking it alongside much heftier SUVs or pickup trucks. Why is that? This car boasts a sleek and stylish exterior with high-quality features that are distinctive for its class.

Unsurprisingly, the best dressed of the bunch is the top-tier Limited trim, which comes with LED , LED daytime running lights, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals. If you like open-air driving from time to time, you’ll appreciate the power that comes standard in this trim.

The available hands-free smart trunk is incredibly useful too. Unlike similar features on other cars, you won’t need to kick your foot under the rear bumper to activate it; just stand behind your car with your key fob in your purse or pocket and the trunk will raise automatically, giving you easy access when your hands are full.

An Efficient Powertrain

Looking to cut down on trips to the gas pump? The engine under the hood of the Accent can help you do just that. A 1.6L 4-cylinder engine, this masterpiece of engineering kicks out up to 130 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers may sound conservative, but they’re perfect if you do most of your driving around town or in the city.

On the base SE trim, that engine mates with a standard 6-speed manual , giving you incredible control over your ride. A 6-speed with SHIFTRONIC® is available on the SE trim and standard for all other trim levels. It gives you the ease and efficiency of an automatic transmission while still letting you change gears on demand.

What about efficiency? When paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission, this engine gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 28 city and 38 highway MPG1. With this transmission, you can turn on Active ECO Mode to slow down your acceleration and maximize fuel economy—perfect for when you’re cruising over the open road.

Cabin Comforts: Features & Dimensions

The Accent’s cabin is surprisingly spacious and offers plenty of comfort. Even the tallest drivers won’t have a problem finding room in the front seat, where a roomy 42 inches of legroom and 39 inches of headroom will greet them when they slide into the car.

The backseat, with 33.5 inches of legroom, is still adult friendly. Two adults or three kids will find all the space they need to sit comfortably, even on long rides. Plus, a 13.7 cubic foot trunk can handle your weekly groceries or luggage for a weekend excursion alike.

Hyundai Elantra: A Sedan on the Move

The fits snugly between the smaller Accent and the larger Sonata; for many drivers, it has that “just right” feel. This has a lot of cargo space and powertrain options, including the most efficient engine in a gas-only Hyundai sedan. For road trips and hauling cargo, you may find that this car offers a perfect balance.

Customize Your Performance

The base engine in the Elantra is a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, good for putting out 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. If you want more power, the Elantra Sport delivers with a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that can give you 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

For efficiency, you’ll want the Elantra Eco which runs on a 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It delivers a bit less power than the base engine with 128 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque; however, for that power trade-off, you’ll see impressive fuel economy— an EPA-estimated 32 city and 40 highway MPG1 to be exact.

6 HILTON HEAD

How does the Elantra Eco achieve this? Those figures are partially the result of an available 7-speed EcoShift® dual-clutch transmission with SHIFTRONIC®. This transmission is primed to optimize your daily drives for efficiency, resulting in you stopping less often at the gas station. The View from the Exterior

From the front, the Elantra looks sleek and aerodynamic with flowing curves and lines that make for a less aggressive appearance than the larger Sonata. In the rear, the Elantra hints at the styling of the Sonata, but the illusion is broken at the trunk where you’ll see notching typical of a traditional sedan.

Like its fellow Hyundai sedans, the Elantra features an available hands-free smart trunk for easy access should your hands be full. However, it also sports a unique item you won’t find in the Sonata or Accent: optional door handle approach lights. When you approach your car at night, you won’t need to grope in the dark for the handle anymore.

Interior Technology and Space

In the Elantra, you’ll find an impressive number of technology features. You can listen to your music with full clarity and original crispness thanks to available Clari-Fi™ Music Restoration Technology. Combine that with an available 8-speaker Infinity® Premium Audio Sound System, and you’ll feel like you’re sitting front row at a live concert.

Space-wise, the Elantra sedan impresses with 14.4 cubic feet of cargo volume in the trunk. Alongside standard split-folding rear seats that fold nearly flat as well as a low lift-over height, this space makes loading even large or heavy objects easy.

This car maximizes its interior space to the point that its rear legroom matches and even slightly exceeds that in the midsize Sonata, measuring in at 35.7 inches. Three adults will have no problem climbing into the cabin’s backseat for a long ride.

Hyundai Sonata: The Family Sedan

As a midsize car, the offers a blend of cabin space, power, and efficiency, all of which make it a great choice for a family car. Its large trunk, supportive seats, and intuitive features are just some of the reasons why sedan shoppers end up giving it a second look. Let’s see what it has in store!

Primed for Performance

The Sonata gives you four different engines to choose from. The base engine is a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and can be found in four of the six Sonata trim levels. It produces 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, giving you all the potency you need for daily driving.

The Sonata Eco trim runs on an even more efficient engine: a 1.6L Twin-scroll turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque on tap. What about those fuel economy numbers, you ask? EPA estimates are in, and this engine can achieve an impressive 28 city and 37 highway MPG1.

9 HILTON HEAD

If you want to go even farther on less fuel, it’s time to add some electricity to the mix. The Sonata Hybrid pairs a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with an to produce 193 net-system horsepower. With an EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 40 city/46 highway MPG1, no other Hyundai sedan can outperform this efficiency.

At the high end of the lineup is the Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T+, the most powerful of all Hyundai sedans on the road today. Its turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine yields a robust 245 horsepower and a massive 260 lb-ft of torque. If you want more thrills behind the wheel, this is the engine for you. Spacious and Practical

The cabin of the Sonata is a comfortable place to find yourself no matter where you decide to sit. In the front row, 45.5 inches of legroom ensures that even the tallest of drivers and passengers won’t be left out. Plus, the backseat’s 35.6 inches of legroom makes it spacious enough for three adults, even on a long drive.

With a trunk that offers 16.3 cubic feet of cargo volume, the Sonata really stands out in its segment. That space is more than sufficient to accommodate luggage for a family trip or a cooler and beach chairs for some fun in the summer sun.

The Sonata is also the only Hyundai sedan with standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ to help you integrate your smartphone with the Hyundai Blue Link® infotainment system. Available wireless device charging is another convenient feature in this car; just set your smartphone on the center console pad to recharge without the hassle of cords. A Refreshed Exterior

The Sonata is fresh off a redesign that gave it a bold, stylish new look. Lines spanning the length of the hood give this car a tauter appearance, and the cascading grille looks good bordered by distinct headlamps with LED bulbs in higher trims.

The Sonata Sport+ and Limited 2.0T+ each feature a chrome-tipped dual exhaust system, adding some balance and a sense of sportiness to the rear. You’ll also find a sloping fastback-style roof that extends in one seamless curve from the roof to the rear bumper, helping this car go far beyond the cookie-cutter look of a traditional family sedan.
