1. Indira Gandhi Canal Project(Rajasthan Canal)

a. b. The construction work is of two stages: Stage-I and Stage-II. i. Stage-I: Stage-I’s command area lies in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and the northern part of the Bikaner districts. Stage-II: The command area of Stage-II is spread over Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur, Nagaur and Churu districts, covering an area of 14.10 lakh hectares. c. Irrigation in the Stage-I command area of the canal was introduced in the early 1960s. In contrast, entering the command area of Stage-II began receiving irrigation in the mid-1980s.

a. b. Contributory state: i. Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana c. According to the Erdai committee/Report, the Beas project provide 8.6 MAF(million-acre feet) water supplies to IGNP(Indira Gandhi Nahar Project) d. The Beas Project has two units. i. Unit-I(BSL Project) 1. The concept of the Beas-Satluj link for diverting some water of river Beas in the Satluj river through two tunnels and an open channel to generate power and to increase the storage capacity of the Bhakra reservoir () was conceived by Dr A.N. Khosla, a brilliant engineer and dynamic leader in the profession and a close and trusted confidant of Jawaharlal Nehru.

ii. Unit-II(Beas Dam Project) 1. (, H.P) a. Rajasthan gets 20% of the electricity generated. 2. /Maharana Pratap Sagar(, H.P) a. Rajasthan gets 59% of the electricity generated.

b. c. Pong Dam is an Earth Core Gravel Shell type, and Power House is located in a stilling basin downside of six penstocks each of 5.025 m dia. The installed capacity of this powerhouse is 396 MW (6x66 MW).
