Donisthorpe woodland START The Ramscliffe Avenue Community building is operated by Trustees. There are concerns about the age and condition of building. Land owned by District Council, facility used by Parish Council on a three monthly rotation.Described as “15 years past its

‘sell buy date” by a walk participant, The Paddock enclosing the boundary of Ashlar Drive to the north and east is residents keen to see something drastic made up of waste fill from the excavation of the canal. The land is totally wild done to it.

St John the Evangelist church and is a haven for wild life as it stands with a lot of poorly drained swampy area where the waste fill was used to infill an existing pool. Ownership is unclear but appears to be owned by an offshoot of CISWO (Coal Industry Social Welfare Organistion), linked in some way to the Woodland Centre. Several attempts have been made to clarify this but to no avail. There is also apparently two leans on the property in favour of the builder of the Woodland Centre and the brewery. This lack of clarity makes development difficult at present.

Donisthorpe Woodland. Owned by County Council, active group of volunteers helping to manage the site. Managed by LCC rangers. Trees need thinning, National Forest have a 10 year maintenance strategy which is being th launched at Calke Abbey on 25 June 2014.

However there is no power, no toilets etc and

therefore events aren’t held on land anymore.

Moira Road car park

LCC car park (off Moira Road) is currently closed, as surplus to Old Methodist church has been recently sold, but new ownership unknown. 1924 requirement. LCC offered the car park to ODAPC, but they don’t have sufficient
