DSWD DROMIC Report #2 on the Flooding Incident in Region IX as of 19 October 2017, 6AM
Situation Overview
On October 15, 2017, continuous heavy rains brought about by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) caused flooding in some parts of Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur affecting seven (46) barangays.
1. Status of Affected Families / Persons
6,643 families or 44,638 persons are affected in 46 barangays (See Table 1). Table 1. 2. Status of Displaced Families / Persons
a. There are 882 families or 4,159 Persons currently staying inside 4 evacuation centers (see Table 2).

3. Damaged Houses

There are 669 damaged houses; 191 of which are totally damaged and 478 are partially damaged (See Table 4).

4. Cost of Assistance
A total of ₱592,200.00 worth of assistance was provided to the affected families by DSWD (see Table 5).

DSWD-FO IX DATE ACTION(S) TAKEN ● The Zamboanga City Social Welfare and Development Office provided Family Food Packs to the affected families. ● The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office IX October 15 through its Disaster Response Operations Unit, is continuously coordinating with the concerned Field Offices for updates on the status of the affected families/individuals and possible assistance needed.
*** The Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) of DSWD continues to closely coordinate with DSWD-Field Office Region IX for significant updates on their preparedness levels and actions taken.
