Ohana Military Residents, In light of the approach of Hurricane Lane we would like to send out some reminder information to better prepare you for the hurricane as well as advise you of items that may impact our residential operations. Current Situation: The latest hurricane advisories state that Hurricane Lane is a Category 4 Hurricane with sustained 155 MPH winds. It is expected to impact and from Thursday through Saturday.

Resident Preparation Reminders - Secure Potential Projectile Hazards: Remove or tie down all items from the outside of your homes and covered lanai or patio. Place them inside your home or garages as well as ensure all windows are securely closed. This includes outdoor furniture, hanging plants, wind chimes, flags, trampolines, etc. - Do not place boards over the exterior of windows. Precautionary measures may be taken on the inside of your home, as you feel necessary. - Power Failure: With a storm of this magnitude, if power is lost it is possible power may not be restored for several days or longer. Stock up and be prepared with: o Flashlight and additional batteries (please do not use candles for light) o Glow sticks o Fully charge laptops and cell phones. o Utilize text messaging to communicate with family and friends to preserve battery life. o Have battery-operated radio for community updates. o Refrigerated/frozen items will stay safe for 24 hours without electricity, if you do not open the doors too often. Find out how to keep food safe during and after and emergency by visiting www.FoodSafety.gov - Collect Water: It is recommended to fill any container with water that you have available at home to include bathtubs. - Please have your current Renter's Insurance Policy accessible at all times, along with the policyholder's full contact information. - All emergencies during this closure will need to be handled by military and local emergency responders by calling 911. - The OMC call center will be patched over to the mainland 24-7 call center. Please refrain from calling in non-emergency work orders during the course of this hurricane. - Maintenance service calls at the time of shutdown will be cancelled and we will do our best to contact our residents to reschedule either prior to the shutdown or as soon as feasible upon re-opening the offices. - If you currently have an open work order, expect completion delays due to this storm. It is highly suggested that you shelter in place, however, in the event State officials advise evacuation, a list of State of Hawaii shelters are provided in the link below:
