At the 71 Mike patch the sea was running fast to the north 1/2hr.after HW. First group had 72 Don fast drift but didn't find scallops. Lots of sea life and clear water viz 4/5m. 73 22.5m Chris Lots of dead razor clam shells on seabed. Slack started 2hrs 10mins after 74 Derek HW. Big seas on the way back and just managed to unload on steps 75 28/06/2014 Rock of Providence 18.7m 15c Chris CH Scenic dive in Luce Bay. Viz 5/6m Dived at HW with dropping off. 76 Debi Between the shallower 11m and the deeper one at 18m quite a sandy 77 Alison slope has now built up with little life on it. At 18m the rough ground with 78 John short animal turf merits close inspection. Quite a few small lobsters 79 Phil around. 80 Helen 81 29/06/2014 Devils Bridge 14m 15c Mel CH Got out to Devil's Bridge but were delayed geeting in. Viz was about 4m 82 Callum but not fantastic for this site. By the end of dive the current was running 83 9.9m Chris like a river either side of the bridge. 84 Elizabeth 85 S.S.Woodburn 10m Chris Glyn's first open water dive. After initial nervousness he settled down well 86 Glyn and thoroughly enjoyed the dive. His bouyancy was good for a first dive 87 14m Callum and we managed to incorporate a number of skills. Using the anchor line 88 Derek as a shot enabled slow descent and practice deco stop on ascent 89 04/07/2014 S.S.Rondo 28m 12c Callum PB First rainy and miserable day in ages. Crossing the Firth of Lorne was a 90 Mel bit rough and wet but as soon as we entered the it calmed 91 John down. Rondo was a good first dive as we had inexperienced divers with us. 92 27m Mike Buddy order got mixed up when Bert got a free flow but he soon got it 93 Alison fixed and went down as a three. Viz on the wreck was good for us at about 94 21m Bert 6/7m. Wreck still covered by a vast range of animal turf. 95 Phil Gassed off in Tobermoray which was good and when we were there the 96 Helen sun broke out which lightened our hearts ready for the dive on the Hispania 97 21m Chris 98 Debi 99 S.S.Hispania 28m 12c Bert Had too wait quite a while for the slack window to appear and when we hit 100 John it was still running. Got down to the wreck which was as beautiful as ever 101 26m Callum and tucked ourselves in. This was good experience for the divers who had 102 Mel never dived a big wreck before and they were all blown away by visibility 103 26m Alison and profusion of life on the wreck. Darren had a bad flood on the first dive and couldn't 146 Mike do the Woodburn 147 Derek 148 19/07/2014 Great Ouse 24.4m 16c Chris CH A miserable rainy day but quite calm out in Luce Bay so we speeded out 149 Derek to the Ouse. Went in 75mins before LW when just coming on to slack. 150 Mel Shotted it on the bucket chain. Lovely dive though viz only about 5m 151 Tosh (V) Lots of big fish on wreck and we managed to get a couple of good sized 152 Darren lobsters, leaving a monster one behind to patrol the wreck. Darren had 153 S.S.Woodburn 7.7m Chris weighting problems which marred his dive. Couldn't retrieve shot 154 Debi Afterwards did training exercises with Debi on the Woodburn. Came up 155 Tosh (V) and the heavens opened, rinsing all our kit off. Road run off was making 156 Darren waterfalls through the drainage holes into the harbour. Lost shot just 183 Derek visible below surface so reshotted wreck. Viz 5-6m and as usual lots of 184 John big fish. Shoals of bib and pollock and a few big congers. Saw the huge 185 Mel lobster under a plate. Excellent dive and managed to recover lost shot 186 Russ which was firmly wedged in he wreck. John just managed to get it free 187 S.S.Woodburn 8.6m 16c Russ Finished off the gas on the Woodburn while we waited for the to rise. 188 John Quite a chop here and the viz was poor 189 Chris 190 Derek 191 06/09/2014 S.S.Riverside 26.3m 16c Chris CH Got off to a swift start on a beautiful fresh morning arriving at the wreck 192 John to find that the permanent bouy had vanished. Shotted the wreck near the 193 Russ stern but had to line off to find the wreck. Dark and viz not much more 194 Callum than a metre. Led John round the wreck and saw lights in the gloom from 195 Tosh (V) the others. Used up most of my air needlessly getting shot to wreck 196 S.S.Woodburn 10.2m Russ Nice relaxed dive on Woodburn. Darren found some treasure. Elizabeth 197 Darren and Callum went round edge of site. 198 12m Callum 199 Elizabeth 200 19/09/2014 S.S.Kelvinside 24.2m 16c Chris CH Derek cox. Ideal conditions if overcast. Shotted wreck perfectly 2m from 201 Mel port side. Viz 7/8m. Lots of big fish, pollock, bib and a huge conger under 202 Russ the boiler. Saw a heap of piled up copper and remembered Darren. 203 20/09/2014 Slockenglass 17m 16c Darren CH Viz not too good despite calm conditions. Did not expect to get out today 204 Tosh (V) but wind changed overnight and sea was calm. Decided to take Glyn's son 205 Mel Mattie on the Chile as it was his first dive. Here the viz was better 206 Glyn and we all had a bimble. Toured all the main bits of wreckage and found 207 S.S.Craignair / Chile 4m Chris the remains of the teak decking from the Chile round the hatch coaming. 208 Mattie (V) 209 Darren 210 Tosh (V) 211 Mel 212 Glyn 213 21/09/2014 Andy's Patch S > N 20.4m 16c Chris CH Full boat today. A little too late to get slack on the wrecks so went for 214 Glyn a scallop dive. Nice calm sea and hit the patch bang on slack 40 mins 215 Mel before HW on a 7m tide. Began to pick up about 30mins before HW 216 Russ giving us a nice gentle drift to N. Scallops well dug in and only found 10 217 Tosh (V) decent ones between us 218 S.S.Woodburn 11.3m Chris Took Mattie for his second dive on the Woodburn. Having sorted his 219 Mattie (V) weighting on the previous day his bouyancy was good. Took him for a tour 220 Mel of the wreck, cave and scenic canyons as the central area was soon 221 Darren stirred up 222 Tosh (V) 223 27/09/2014 MFV Valhalla 38.5m 16c Chris CH Darren cox. Dived at HW which limited time on the wreck. Dark but clear. 224 Phil Found ships wheel with what looked like telegraph alongside it. Some of 225 Tosh (V) ribs are fragile and one snapped off and hit sea bed when touched 226 Cruggleton Castle 13.5m Chris Found a good mark under Cruggleton Castle. Thought it might be Boy 227 Darren Anthony but proved to be a big rock. Quite silty but interesting small 228 Tosh (V) critters like lobsters and sea squirts 229 28/09/2014 S.S.Jasper 18m 16c Chris CH Though a small spring tide slack on the wreck began about 1hr 15mins 230 Debi before HW and lasted up to about 15mins past. Viz not bad at about 231 Darren 3.5 / 4m. Some big pollock on the wreck and a conger in the side engine 232 Tosh (V) hole. Also some big lobsters in the box infront of the engine. A nice 233 Derek relaxing dive having the permanent shot on the wreck. A good supply of 234 Callum big mussels on the line at the 6m level 235 11/10/2014 Andy's Patch 26.6m 15c Phil CH Beautiful day and sped out to site on a flat calm sea. But viz awful after 236 Mel storms in past week. Night dive conditions on bottom, but lots of fish life. 237 Chris Current picked up for second pair because one of biggest of year 238 Mike A real roller coaster ride with only the back up torch working!
