Obituary We are very sorry to inform you that Professor Phil Scott of the Centre for Studies in Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Leeds died suddenly on July 15, 2011. Phil was a wonderful scholar and a marvellous person. The world of science education has lost one of its most popular and influential colleagues.

Pacific CRYSTAL Centre for Science, Mathematics, and Technology Literacy: Lessons Learned. , The Netherlands: Sense Publishers. This book reports on the results of various science, mathematics and technology (STM) education projects as part of the first ever Natural Science and Engineering Research Council, pilot project (2005-2011) on Centres for Research in Youth, Science Teaching and Learning (CRYSTAL). The inter-university and inter-disciplinary projects explored authentic STM opportunities, classroom application, school and system-wide leadership, dissemination and policy influence.
