VDA Technology: IP-Enabled Collaboration and Control

Overview

VDA remote desktop adapters combine video and graphics with keyboard and mouse control signals to add powerful remote capabilities to RGB Spectrum’s APPLICATIONS control room and display processing solutions. • Command and Control Centers Enterprise MCMS is a control room management platform that combines real-time • Security Operations Centers (SOCs) visuals and multi-user KVM with global monitoring and control. Innovative VDA • Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) technology allows Enterprise MCMS to integrate multiple disparate systems over IP • Industrial / Process Control (LAN/WAN).

RGB Spectrum’s VDA line consists of three products: a Remote Access Control Station (RACS), an encoder and a decoder. These devices dramatically expand control room system capabilities.

Beyond VNC FASTER MOUSE RESPONSE • CLEARER TEXT • 2X THE FRAME RATE VDA devices utilize a proprietary adaptive codec to provide excellent high motion video as well as crystal clear text and graphics transmission, far superior to industry standard VNC compression. VDA devices are also highly-secure, using AES-256 and NSA Suite B cryptography to protect sensitive data. VDA remote desktop technology makes VNC obsolete.

Powerful Capabilities

• REMOTE OPERATORS: A RACS unit encrypts and transmits video, keyboard and mouse signals over public or private networks. A VDA decoder at a remote site decodes these signals, allowing operators or supervisors at this site to share control of system resources.

• REMOTE SOURCES: Used together, VDA encoders/decoders add remote computer or video sources to a control room system.

• REMOTE DESTINATIONS: A single VDA encoder encrypts and transmits up to four signals for decoding and viewing at a remotely-located site. With VDA adapters, our full line of video wall processors, multiviewers and switchers can now accept IP inputs. VDA products extend system monitoring and control around the globe to make RGB Spectrum’s control room managment and display processing solutions ideal for even the most demanding mission-critical applications.

Remote Access Control Station (RACS) Remote Access Control Stations (RACS) work with VDA decoders to add remote operators/supervisors to the Enterprise MCMS system. The RACS unit encrypts video, keyboard, and mouse control signals and transmits them to a remote site where there can be decoded, displayed and/or controlled by authorized remote operators/supervisors.

VDA 104D / 102D Decoders VDA 104D / 102D decoders work with a RACS or VDA encoder unit to decrypt up to four encoded high-resolution (up to 1920x1200) graphics and signals. The decoder unit is a standalone appliance that connects easily to standard peripherals including keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors.
