The limit of work includes the lower parking lot, the existing viewpoint structure, and the connection to the existing trail leading from the lower parking lot to the viewpoint structure. 1.2 SCOPE OF WORK .1 The work covered by this Contract shall include mobilization and demobilization, the furnishing of all materials, labour, equipment, tools, supplies, temporary lighting and heating, transportation, quality control, Division 1 requirements, labour and superintendence necessary for the construction of the work as herein specified and shown on the Drawings. .2 Work under this Contract includes supply and installation of materials and construction of the following: .1 Lower Parking Lot .1 The major items in this phase include tree clearing, grading, earthwork, granular base, paving, removal and decommissioning of existing washroom facility and septic tank, removal and disposal of existing fence, installation of new washroom buildings, installation of an information kiosk, signage, pavement marking, and landscaping work. .2 Viewpoint .1 The major items in this phase include tree clearing, expansion of the existing viewpoint structure, partial demolition of the existing viewpoint structure, foundation and framing, decking, railing installation, seating construction and installation, and landscaping work. 1.3 CONTRACT METHOD .1 Construct Work under combined price contract. 1.4 WORK BY OTHERS .1 No other Contractors shall be on-site. .2 Work to be completed by others includes fabrication of PCA-provided signs, off-site. .3 Co-ordinate Work with that of other Contractors. If any part of the Work under this Contract depends for its proper execution or result upon work of another Contractor, report promptly to the Departmental Representative, in writing, any defects which may interfere with proper execution of Work. 1.5 WORK SEQUENCE .1 Co-ordinate Progress Schedule and co-ordinate with Departmental Representative during construction. Banff National Park Section 01 11 00 Peyto Lake Day Use Area Rehabilitation SUMMARY OF WORK Project No. FII 1494 Page 2 .2 Required stages: .1 Refer to section 01 14 00 – Work Restrictions. .3 Maintain fire access/control throughout the duration of the Work. 1.6 PROJECT MILESTONES .1 Refer to section 01 14 00 – Work Restrictions. 1.7 CONTRACTOR USE OF PREMISES .1 Coordinate use of premises under direction of the Departmental Representative. .2 The Contractor shall obtain a business license from Parks Canada Agency for Work in the National Park area. .3 The Contractor shall obtain a vehicle work pass from Parks Canada Agency for all business and private vehicles it intends to use on site. All contractor vehicles on site should display the work pass. .4 Remove or alter existing work to prevent injury or damage to portions of existing work which remain. .5 Repair or replace portions of existing work which have been altered during construction operations to match existing or adjoining work, as directed by Departmental Representative. .6 At completion of operations, condition of existing work to be equal to or better than that which existed prior to construction, to the satisfaction of the Departmental Representative. 1.8 OWNER FURNISHED ITEMS .1 Owner Responsibilities: .1 Arrange for delivery of shop drawings, product data, samples, manufacturer's instructions, and certificates to Contractor. .2 Deliver supplier's bill of materials to Contractor. .3 Arrange and pay for delivery to site in accordance with Progress Schedule. .4 Inspect deliveries jointly with Contractor. .5 Submit claims for transportation damage. .6 Arrange for replacement of damaged, defective or missing items. .7 Arrange for manufacturer's field services; arrange for and deliver manufacturer's warranties and bonds to Contractor. .2 Contractor Responsibilities: .1 Designate submittals and delivery date for each product in progress schedule. .2 Review shop drawings, product data, samples, and other submittals. Submit to Departmental Representative notification of observed discrepancies or problems anticipated due to non-conformance with Contract Documents. .3 Receive and unload products at site. .4 Inspect deliveries jointly with Departmental Representative; record shortages, and damaged or defective items. .5 Handle products at site, including uncrating and storage. Banff National Park Section 01 11 00 Peyto Lake Day Use Area Rehabilitation SUMMARY OF WORK Project No. FII 1494 Page 3 .6 Protect products from damage, and from exposure to elements. .7 Assemble, install, connect, adjust, and finish products. .8 Provide installation inspections required by public authorities. .9 Repair or replace items damaged by Contractor or subcontractor on site. .3 Schedule of Owner furnished items: .1 10 Finger Boards with No RV Parking signs, including posts, as indicated in the Contract Drawings. .2 4 Double Sided Finger Boards, including posts, as indicated in the Contract Drawings. .3 4 RV Parking Signs, including posts, as indicated in the Contract Drawings. .4 3 Directional Signs, including posts, as indicated in the Contract Drawings. 1.9 EXISTING SERVICES .1 The Contractor shall perform utility locates, survey, hydrovac and provide copies to Departmental Representative prior to undertaking any Work.
