We estimate as a group that we filed ~ 10 ILL requests last year for papers in RSC journals Faculty no longer subscribed to. Comments A slightly larger number of articles (~ 30 ) were obtained by requesting copies from friends at other institutions or downloading copies from PI’s websites (probably violating copyright laws). We estimate as ~ 300 the number of articles where the researcher would have liked to see the paper, but didn’t feel that it was critical and simply ‘gave up’ rather than filing an ILL request or hunting for another copy. In short, the loss of access to these journals has had a quite substantial impact on how we conduct research, mostly by causing us to neglect an important set of resources.” 14 Faculty “My literature habits include a fair amount of browsing and rummaging, and those suffer a bit (but not too much thus far) from not Comments being able to have a quick look. Abstracts are not always as informative as they should be, and I wonder whether publishers limit the length to force people to get access to the article. On the other hand, I have considered asking (authors) for reprints (rather than the library for ILL), and that strikes me as a possibly nice side effect. I would be delighted if someone asks me personally for one of our papers. But haven't done it yet.” 15 Next Steps Explore the impact of the back file Survey faculty about impact on research habits Continue to educate and communicate with faculty on issues of Open Access and their role as contributors in academic publishing societies 16 Thanks Scott Stangroom Kate Zdepski Christine Turner Sally Krash 17 RSC £ 46.3 m £ 34.8 m £ 11.5 m $ 16,119,090. 18 WASHINGTON, March 20, 2018 — The American Chemical Society (ACS) today announced its partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry and the German Chemical Society (GDCh) to support the financial and strategic development of Future ChemRxiv, the premier preprint server for the global chemistry community. This strategic partnership among three of the largest scientific societies in the chemical sciences will enable researchers to rapidly disseminate their findings in a forum that is free and globally accessible. 19.

A Literature Review Meiai Chen 1 , Eila Jeronen 2 and Anming Wang 3,* 1 School of Tourism & Health, Zhejiang A&F University, Hangzhou 311300, China; [email protected] 2 Department of Educational Sciences and Teacher Education, University of Oulu, FI-90014 Oulu, Finland; eila.jeronen@oulu.fi 3 College of Materials, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hangzhou Normal University, Hangzhou 311121, China * Correspondence: [email protected] Received: 11 September 2020; Accepted: 24 October 2020; Published: 27 October 2020 Abstract: In this qualitative study, we aim to identify suitable pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning green chemistry among college students and preservice teachers by examining the teaching methods that have been used to promote green chemistry education (GCE) and how these methods have supported green chemistry learning (GCL). We found 45 articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals since 2000 that specifically described teaching methods for GCE. The content of the articles was analyzed based on the categories of the teaching methods used and the revised version of Bloom’s taxonomy. Among the selected articles, collaborative and interdisciplinary learning, and problem-based learning were utilized in 38 and 35 articles, respectively. These were the most frequently used teaching methods, alongside a general combination of multiple teaching methods and teacher presentations. Developing collaborative and interdisciplinary learning skills, techniques for increasing environmental awareness, problem-centered learning skills, and systems thinking skills featuring the teaching methods were seen to promote GCL in 44, 40, 34, and 29 articles, respectively.
