Wer Soll in Die Poker Hall of Fame? Wer soll in die Poker Hall of Fame? Während in Las Vegas die Super Satellites für die WSOP 2009 gespielt werden, öffnen sich die Tore der Poker Hall of Fame erstmals für die Öffentlichkeit. Dass die Pokerfans in aller Welt Einfluss nehmen können, ist bisher ein einmaliger Vorgang. Ab sofort und bis zum 2. Juli kann man sich auf der Homepage der WSOP (worldseriesofpoker.com) einloggen und einen Spieler oder eine Spielerin vorschlagen, der/die in die Hall of Fame aufgenommen werden sollte. In den Formular ist neben dem Feld für den Spielernamen Platz für eine bis zu 250 Worte lange Begründung, warum gerade diese Person einen Platz in der Poker Hall of Fame verdient. Die wichtigsten Kriterien für eine Aufnahme sind, dass die Spieler gegen anerkannte Größen angetreten sind, auf den höchsten Limits gespielt haben, über längere Zeit ein hohes Niveau halten konnten und sich so Ein Platz an der Seite den Respekt anderer Topspieler verschafft von Doyle Brunson in haben. Bedingungen, die ebenso spezifischder HoF ist eine Ehre wie ungenau sind und viel Raum fürfür jeden Spieler. Vorschläge lassen. Auch Nicht-Spieler können gewählt werden, und zwar, wenn sie sich um Poker verdient gemacht und „unverwechselbare und dauerhafte Ergebnisse“ für den Erfolg des Spiels erzielt haben. Harrah’s wird im Lauf des Main Events die zehn am häufigsten nominierten Spieler vorstellen. Das Komitee wird sich dann im August zurückziehen und die Nominierungen bewerten. Außerdem wird über weitere Nominierungen entschieden. Die endgültige Liste wird im September an alle 16 lebenden Mitglieder der Hall of Fame (darunter sind Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth und Barbara Enright) verschickt. Diese werden die Nominierten hinsichtlich ihrer Qualität beurteilen und ordnen. Personen, die nach Ansicht der Hall-of-Fame-Mitglieder nicht aufgenommen werden sollten, werden dabei auch nicht berücksichtigt, zumindest nicht im Jahr 2009. Daneben darf jeder der 16 Gutachter der Liste einen weiteren Namen hinzufügen. Die entsprechende Person wird nicht in diesem Jahr berücksichtigt, steht dafür aber im nächsten Jahr automatisch auf der Liste der Nominierungen. Einige ausgewählte Medienvertreter werden die Liste ebenfalls erhalten und zur Abstimmung gebeten. Jeder Wahlberechtigte trifft seine Auswahl geheim, ist aber nicht verpflichtet, seine Wahl auch geheim zu halten. Das betrifft sowohl die Hall-of-Fame-Mitglieder als auch die Journalisten. Schließlich gehen die Entscheidungen an das Komitee der Hall of Fame zurück, das die Ergebnisse auswerten und bei Gleichstand zwischen einzelnen Kandidaten entscheiden wird. Jeder Kandidat, der von mehr als 75% der Verantwortlichen gewählt wurde, wird während der Austragung des Final Tables im November im Rahmen der offiziellen Aufnahmezeremonie in die Poker Hall of Fame eingeführt..

Außerdem ist der Holocaust Überlebende der Produzent des bekannten TV – Formates „High Stakes Poker.“ Dewey Tomko ist ein ehemaliger Musiklehrer aus Florida und seines Zeichens Rekordhalter für die meisten Teilnahmen am Main Event der WSOP, nämlich 35. Insgesamt nennt er drei WSOP Bracelets sein Eigen und konnte zweimal das Main Event als Zweiter beenden. Er war übrigens das „Opfer“ des legendären „a chip and a chair“ Comebacks von Jack Straus im Jahre 1982 und musste sich damals Straus im Heads – Up geschlagen geben..
