GENERAL REGULATIONS

The Society’s General Regulations and Section Conditions regulate the conduct of the Royal Show. Upon acceptance of an entry the Exhibitor is contracted to be bound by those General Regulations and Section Conditions.

A copy of the Society’s General Regulations may be obtained on application or downloaded from the website www.perthroyalshow.com.au. Section Conditions applicable to the Agricultural Art Award are listed in the Schedule. 1. ENTRIES CLOSE: 4.30PM FRIDAY 24 JULY 2015.

2. THEME: Agricultural / Rural MEDIUM: Any (For example: oil, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, ink, charcoal, pencil, encaustic, mixed media). SIZE: 125cm x 125cm x 10cm depth including frame, nor exceed 15kg in overall weight.

3. ELIGIBILITY: All Agricultural Societies/approved art groups within Western Australia are free to nominate one of their winners into the Agricultural Art Award. Selected artists must reside within the Shire or neighbouring Shire(s) of the nominating Agricultural Society or approved art group.

4. 5. JUDGING OF RAS APPROVED ART COMPETITIONS: Nominating bodies intending to submit artworks to the Agricultural Art Award will have their adjudicator select two entries of any medium. These will consist of a winning entry plus a reserve in the case that the nominated artwork is not available.

6. TWELVE MONTH REQUIREMENT: All artworks nominated must have been selected as a winning entry from a RAS approved art exhibition held between 26 July 2014 and 24 July 2015.

7. ENTRY FORMS: !"#$%&'#"$&('[*+(,-.&(#,&(/(#.&0"$1-,+,+"2%&(#-&,"&+20*3.-&(&%-0,+"2&,4(,& advises the artwork will be eligible for selection and nomination into the Agricultural Art Award. The nominating organisation will forward the RAS Entry form containing the winner’s name and details to The RAS of WA. & 5#,+%,R%&1#"[*-&$(7&8-&+20*3.-.9

8. FEES: There are no entry or handling fees associated with the Agricultural Art Award. The only fees the artist may encounter are those associated with original competitions.

9. LABELLING: Once entries close, The Royal Agricultural Society of WA will provide the & 2"$+2(,-.&(#,+%,%&/+,4&+2%,#30,+"2%&(2.&+.-2,+[0(,+"2&*(8-*%&,"&(00"$1(27&,4-&& & /+22+2:&-2,#79&&;.-2,+[0(,+"2&*(8-*&$3%,&8-&('[<-.&,"&,4-&8(0=&"'&,4-&(#,/"#=&& entered.

10. ORIGINAL, UNAIDED ARTWORKS: All artworks must be the artist’s own original, unaided work and must not in any way have areas that have been copied from a published article; and must have been executed within a two year period prior to the date of pre-selection judging. One artwork per artist is eligible for entrance into this Award. It is up to the artist to notify the exhibition organisers if they are already eligible for 2015.

11. ARTWORK FRAMING AND HANGING REQUIREMENTS: All artworks must be suitably presented for hanging. If not formally framed, canvas based artwork must be executed on stretched canvas with the staples on the back of the stretchers, not the side. All works on paper must be professionally presented with formal metal or wood outer frames, art glass or similar cover, with acid free mounts and backings. Kit frames are not recommended. 12. NOMINATED ACQUISITIVE ARTWORKS: Acquisitive artworks that have been pre-selected and nominated for entry may be included subject to an agreement with the owner (in writing) that it be exhibited. If the artwork receives a prize, the artist will be awarded the stipulated Prize money.

13. SALE OF ARTWORKS: The sale of artwork is optional. Artworks not for sale, including all acquisitive entries, must be marked ‘NFS’ on the back of the artwork.

14. COMMISSION ON SALES AND GST DECLARATION: The RAS of WA encourages the sales of artworks while the exhibition is in progress. A commission of 25% (inclusive of GST) is charged by The RAS of WA on the sale price for all artworks sold during the exhibition. If the artist is registered for GST, the commission is levied on the sale price inclusive of GST. Payment for paintings sold will be remitted after the exhibition.

15. JUDGING AND ADJUDICATION ON SELECTIONS: All eligible entries will be viewed by the adjudicator(s) and judged in accordance with the Rules and Conditions of the competition. The Judges’ $ 6*4%+%#&$!%//$8*$[&,/$,&6$&#$4#((*+<#&6*&4*$#($4#771&%4,2%#&$!%//$8*$*&2*(*6$$ into.

16. DELIVERY DATE, TIMES AND LOCATION: Artworks are to be forwarded or delivered to the Arthur Wilkinson Gallery, Claremont Showground Monday 31 August 2015 between 10.00am and 3.30pm. Once handed over in delivery, all entries remain in custody of the Society and cannot be collected until the conclusion of the Perth Royal Show.

17. ARTIST’S DELIVERY AND PICK UP AGENTS: Artists who are unable to deliver or pick up their artwork and intend to use an agent, must supply in advance a signed letter of authority which includes the name, address, signature and contact numbers of their agent.

18. DELIVERY AND PICK UP RECEIPT: The Society will issue a receipt to the artist. This receipt must be shown at all times for the handling of the artwork including removal from the exhibition, if not sold.

19. EXHIBITION VIEWING TIMES AND LOCATION: The Agricultural Art Award will be open to the general public in the Arthur Wilkinson Gallery during the Perth Royal Show at the advertised times from $ 3,21(6,-$EF$3*<2*78*($2#$3,21(6,-$G$H42#8*($EIJK=$$@&$#'[4%,/$#<*&%&)$!%//$$ be held on Thursday 24 September 2015 to which each competing artist will be invited. 20. COLLECTION OF ARTWORKS: All artworks will be released for collection at the Arthur Wilkinson Gallery, Claremont Showground.

21. ARTWORKS DELIVERED BY CARRIER OR POST: The Society will arrange to have artworks returned to the artist by carrier or post at the Exhibitor’s or purchaser’s own risk. This will only take place when the Society is provided in writing, a request to return artwork, free of all encumbrances, including insurances, and giving details of preference. The artist must supply in advance the original delivery receipt and monies to cover all freight.

22. UNCLAIMED EXHIBITS: The Society has no facilities for long term storage and will not be responsible for any Exhibit not collected within 30 days from the last day of the Perth Royal $ 3"#!=$$D"*(*'#(*;$2"*$3#4%*2-$(*+*(C*+$2"*$(%)"2$2#$6%+<#+*$#'$,+$2"*-$+**$[2;$$ $ ,&-$L>"%8%2$$4#//*42*6$8-$2"*$+<*4%[*6$6,2*+=

24. COPYRIGHT AND MEDIA AGREEMENT: Copyright remains the property of the artist, however, by signing the Entry form it is agreed the artist clears copyright to The RAS of WA, and gives permission for The RAS of WA to use images and reproduction as needed for media purposes. This will cover the periods following the nomination of the winning entry and leading up to the Agricultural Art Award, for the duration of the exhibition and the following two years.

25. WITHDRAWAL OF EXHIBIT BY THE SOCIETY: The Society may, at its sole discretion, withdraw, reject or disqualify an Exhibit. Refer to the Society’s General Regulation 3.18. Page 8 AGRICULTURAL ART AWARD

26. PRIZE MONEY: The RAS has a policy whereby all Prize money is paid by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Your banking details will be kept secure and can only be used by The RAS to credit your bank account. Please complete your account details on the Entry form even if you have provided them previously. In accordance with the rules of the competition, failure to provide your bank details will mean that any Prize money you earn will be forfeited and retained by The RAS.

Prize money as stated in the Schedule does not include GST. The Prize money which the Society pays to successful Exhibitors (“you”) depends on the information that you provide to the Society.

If any adjustments need to be made, the Society will issue an adjustment note to you within 28 days of the adjustment. Upon entry into the competition and completion and signing of the Application form, this form will become a RCTI agreement as required under (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999.

Further more, you acknowledge your agreement to the following:

If you provide your ABN but are not registered for GST, the Society will pay the Prize money as detailed in the Prize Schedule.

If you are a business Exhibitor and do not provide your ABN to the Society, you will have 46.5% tax deducted from our Prize money under the ATO PAYG $ <(#C%+%#&+=$$Q'$-#1$4#&[(7$2",2$-#1$,(*$*&2*(%&)$,+$<,(2$#'$,$<(%C,2*$ recreational pursuit or hobby, the Society will pay the Prize money as detailed in the Prize Schedule. 27. INSURANCE: As the Society accepts no liability for loss or damage occasioned to or by any property exhibited, it is recommended that the Exhibitor arranges appropriate “all risks” insurance for their artwork.

28. SOCIETY’S LIABILITY: The Society shall be under no liability for any loss or damage occasioned to or by any property exhibited, whether caused by or attributable to the negligence of the Society or of its servants or agents or otherwise however.

29. PROMOTION: No advertising or promotion on behalf of commercial business will be permitted on the Showground without the prior written consent of the Society’s Marketing and Communications Manager.

30. PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT: The information provided by the Exhibitor in the Application for Entry is collected and used by The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (The RAS) to organise and conduct Competitions at the 2015 Perth Royal Show. We may publish details such as your Name, Address and Exhibit details in any RAS publication or communication. Such information may also be made available to, and published by, the media. We will not disclose your information without your consent for any other purpose unless required or authorised by law.
