ProComm Fkey Set Up

STEP ì Open the ProComm Keyboard Editor Select: Options, Keyboard Editor from the tool bar (Fig. 1)

*Note: This is the selection for ProComm Plus32. If you are using an earlier version, your selection could be Tools, Keyboard Editor. If neither of these selections appear on your toolbar, look at the ProComm Help files for keyboards or call PBSI Customer Support for assistance.

STEP í Using the Keyboard Editor (Fig. 2) a). From the editor screen, double click the F6 key to display the Edit Mapped Key - F6 screen (Fig. 3). b). In the Entry Options box, click on Decimal. c). Place your cursor in the first box under Contents.

d). Determine your terminal type (indicated in the lower left corner of your ProComm screen) and enter the F6 key code for your terminal type (Fig. 4). e). Click OK. f). Repeat the steps above for the F8 and F10 keys. g). Click OK to close the editor and save the settings.

Fig 4: Fkey Chart *NOTE: By default when you click OK to close the Terminal Type editor, the keyboard settings are saved to the ProComm Plus folder on your local hard drive. If a Fkey VT-100 WYSE50 keyboard setting file does not already exist, you will be prompted to save the settings. Click OK if this F6 027 079 118 001 069 013 prompt appears. *Note: If the period key on the keyboard number pad does not work, go to the ProComm tool bar and select: Options, Data Options, Terminal Options. Set the Terminal Keyboard File field to ANSIBBS.KBD, click OK.

F6: Press F6 to open a Job Info window (Fig. 5). –The Job Info box shows who is logged on and their location along with the CRT# and JOB# (job# is used by PBSI to terminate jobs if needed).

F7: Press to save typing of extended item descriptions.

F8: Press F8 to display your report on the screen.

F9: Press to open the label printing selection screen.

F10: Press F10 to capture a snapshot of your screen (print screen).

Backspace, Delete, and Insert keys: Programmed for typing of extended item descriptions.

CHANGE COLOR OF SCREEN SELECTIONS

Select: Options, Data Options, Terminal Colors from the tool bar (Fig. 1) Select a FOREGROUND COLOR that is lighter than the current Background Color. (Fig. 2), click OK.

Menu options that you DO NOT have access to (based on your login access) will be the same color as Your Company Name at the top of the screen. (Fig. 3)
