As we look back at our lives one year ago, it's hard to take in all that was 2020. For the first few months, we experienced no public Masses, no in-person community, and true fear of what was to come. In our humanness nothing brings comfort like being able to control what's in front of us, so being challenged to let go of control and trust the process was one of the most uncomfortable things this generation has ever experienced. Pope Benedict XVI once said "The world Before the shutdown parishioners took part in a Eucharistic offers you comfort. But you were not around the campus. made for comfort. You were made for greatness." As the reality of this pandemic set in many were empowered to make the best of what they could do for their families and communities. Parents encouraged their children to honor the Sabbath by creating altars at home for live-streamed Masses. Communities checked in on their elder neighbors and healthcare workers by sending groceries. Out of much discomfort, the goodness of humanity brought a true representation of self-sacrificial love - much Parishioners parked in the parking lot outside the Adoration Chapel to take part in Holy Thursday safely. like the love showed by giving His life on the cross for each of us. When you reflect on this past year, continue to grieve what is necessary for the loss of time with family and friends as well as for the funerals and weddings, you could not attend or have. Do savor the memories of compassion that you experienced and continue to ask the Lord what call of greatness you can strive for. Receptionist, Madeline Jarosik
